Beyonce is a once in a generation talent.... but she has no real hits. You won't hear most Beyonce music played 10 years from now at a cookout.

You'll hear "before I let go" played, but guess why? Because it's a Frankie Beverly and Maze song, not a Beyonce song.

It's incredible that someone with talent like that won't go and get with some real songwriters and put out something quality, instead of this microwaved music she does, that's hot for 2 weeks and then you never hear it again.

I've NEVER heard anybody play anything from that Lemonade album. Just utter trash. Drunk in love was hot when it was hot, but that disappeared too, and you don't hear anybody playing that anymore.

It trips me out when ppl compare her to Mike Jack, as if we ain't playing that nicca's music from 30 years ago like it just came out yesterday. She'll never be on that level.
Lemonade is her by far best album, fastest selling album and it has no hits. That's because she wanted to go for them high reviews, and musical accolades not cater to people that listen to whatever is popular.

Unfortunately or fortunately, she doesn't make cookout music.
But she with Destinys child has 8 #1 songs from pre-streaming era, and a lot of it is very girly. Single Ladies and Crazy in Love still shut down clubs like they just came out. Say my name still that shyt, 25 years later just like TLCs no scrubs. Both era defining classics.

Name one song from the past 20 years that's a cookout song 10 years from now.

People play what their parents play and what everyone knows, with this new era where people don't listen to radio or MTV. There's a lot more big artists and a lot less songs that everyone knows.

But MJ, nobody is MJ :dahell:

Her Sasha Fierce album dropped a year before Obama became President. That album was pretty much the one that propelled her into megastardom territory because prior to that, she was more of an upper B-list singer.

Beyoncé has been a list since 98, and solo a list since 2003

Her music on her own always been straight garbage (Destiny's Child music >>>) but she is A1 at performing and presentation/packaging. And ultimately that's more important than having good music :yeshrug:

Imagining exploring Beyoncé’s discography once let alone having a revisit.

and with that said, she has two albums

Sonically weak

I don't care about those accolades

When I hear the music, it's not hitting

TBH, Solange's recent work is better than Beyonce's best album :unimpressed:
:yeshrug: That's an opinion.

Overall, her work is universally praised by critics and fans alike - a key sign that the objective opinion is a lot closer to their viewpoint than your minority viewpoint.

This is classic and a disingenuous way to avoid answering the question with this internet generation…. “Sonically?” What does that even mean in 2022 compared to live bands and orchestras that was used to make music in yesteryear?

I’ll still play though… You saying Solange a better artist than Bey?
