1. I don't think protestors are perfect, they are not above making mistakes

2. The Republican party is comprised of deranged loons who either think SkyDaddy will return once Israel completes it's genocidal actions, or virulent islamophobes who see Israel's actions as some sort of triumph for Western "civilization". There's little benefit from protesting them on this. There is more urgency to convince the Democratic party to adopt a more urgent stance on Palestine and vow to move towards a peaceful resolution towards the madness (peace including the ultimate recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state in peace alongside Israel).

3. I don't know of the details of Mamdani on this issue (I'll have to check). Regarding AOC... I think her trying to cover for the Biden administration's ineptitude and callousness on Gaza stained her, and it's an action she's not explained since. "Working tirelessly for a ceasefire" . No democrat is perfect, but again, she's the only figure on the left that ran coverage for Biden on this issue, for no more than personal gain. It is laughable to see how she subsequently got shafted by the party for the Oversight ranking chair (even if she should have been selected ahead of Connolly). So I understand the attention on her.
