The funny thing is those voters who chose Trump over this topic actually are vindicated.
This post is very instructive. Because what you're saying is that you're more interested in reforming the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, because you think it's easier to transform a bunch of right-wing oligarchs and their phalanx of rabidly white supremacist supporters drawing on the deep historical reservoir of American racism and classism into good, productive, humane, virtuous citizens than to make the Democratic Party support the same socio-economic program that every other peer nation's Liberal party supports. It turns out you're actually far more pessimistic about the character of the Democratic Party because you think they can never become strong enough to will themselves into power by growing into the political moment, so you have more faith in the Republican Party to find their morality for the first time in history. You realize your position isn’t sustainable right?
Your prescription will allow the Republican cancer to continue to spread because you resign yourself to the fact that they’ll always be evil.
Your analogy falls short because my role would be to politically neutralize the Republicans from being suicidal in the first place, your hope is that with enough reforms the Democratic Party can strong will themselves into power - when that will never be the case. The Republican indoctrination machine is too strong. Your goal is to cut the weed at grass level instead of pulling it up from the root.
The Democrats are not a progressive party right now, they are a centrist party, so I'm not sure how you're hanging their losses on the head of progressives. Most of the issues that this country faces is from the Republican party, not from the “weak” democrats. In the real world, your opinion of “strong” democrats haven’t been able to win in red or purple districts for that matter.
If you think we can reform our way out of this duopoly with one side being granted an evil pass then your strong democrats should be able to win in purple and red districts… but they aren’t
Unhinged would beTrying to figure out what @wire28 to this thread let alone this section. The guys unhinged at this point lol
