I think joe knows whats at stake here
and those companies/people that have in the past didn't?
I think joe knows whats at stake here
Well months ago Joe said he didn’t ask Spotify for $100 mil. On the podcast the other day he finally admitted he did. He’s probably the one that offered Spotify a piece of everything and they said nah. Why the fukk would Spotify want “Mals Master Classes”Why wouldnt i?

Joe LITERALLY SAID he offered them the pod content to use on their pages FOR FREE. What are you talking about? Hes trying build a NETWORKIt would be dumb to break apart the audience. There is no way Joe would let them use the actual content on their individual pages. The money comes from having a huge audience and the best way to ensure that is to have fans going to ONE place to see everything.
And if he DID do all that and they sued, that blows the podcast up ANYWAY correct? The fact that you don't know how funny accounting can be shows you're out of your depth. Companies write off all sorts of shyt as expenses for tax purposes. The final accounting numbers can be spun in so many ways. Joe could write off his personal chef and driver easily as podcast expenses, same as his personal trips or money spent on the network which should be a separate entity from the podcast expenses. That's why Rory and Mal would want an audit to get a breakdown of what is being counted as expenses to make sure they are all legit. The fact that Joe is working so hard to avoid showing them the breakdown should be a huge red flag to let you know that they something is funny about the money.
I would think that spotify would have some sort of legal recourse if he went on their platform and lied about their business dealingson the other hand, we're taking joe's word for it that it was a 360.
is the rogan deal a 360 as well? (genuinely asking, since I didn't follow all that shyt..and just know that he signed for XX years for some exclusivity)
If he lies his network burns to the ground, you get that right?Did Rory and Mal say they did and audit and found that they were overpaid?
we have only heard Joe’s side. The person that has motive to lie and a person that is a compulsive liar
Lol at you using what other companies CHOOSE to do(meaning they are not OBLIGATED to share equity) to try and dictate what joe CHOOSES to do with his own company
They didn’t know what it was in the beginning but this should have been resolved before SpotifyKnow that if you work FOR anybody no matter how long you’ve been around that doesn’t entitle you to OWNERSHIP of a goddamn thing.
get that paperwork settled in the beginning, not damn near 200 episodes later when you hopped on.
This is business not the boyscouts
Passionate enough to rarely bring topics/content and threaten to punch his EMPLOYER in the face multiple times
Passionate enough to complain that other staff memebers were getting paid the same as him
Passionate enough to turn one of Joe's good friends against him
Passionate enough to catch an attitude because joe didnt dislike akademiks
If thats passion then he can keep it
Theyve been off spotify for a while
What ads have rory brought in since then?
Joe told them that they could take HIS CONTENT and promote it on their own channels FOR FREE
They chose not too because they're lazy
Lol at you using what other companies CHOOSE to do(meaning they are not OBLIGATED to share equity) to try and dictate what joe CHOOSES to do with his own company

This nikka Joe in here trying his best![]()

That's what I also don't get. It's so obvious Joe is lying and has lied about the deal alreadyWell months ago Joe said he didn’t ask Spotify for $100 mil. On the podcast the other day he finally admitted he did. He’s probably the one that offered Spotify a piece of everything and they said nah. Why the fukk would Spotify want “Mals Master Classes”![]()
You can say anything on the internet, lol at you thinking I'm about to divulge my personal finances and business dealings to a complete stranger on the internet, a place full of liarsI’ve owned equity / ownership stakes in multiple companies and worked with multiple startups (which I owned a piece of) to help take them to an acquisition / IPOAnd every company I’ve had an ownership stake is/was valuated way higher than Joe Budden’s ‘network’
What makes you comfortable enough to think you know me like that? I’m prob in the 5% of people in this thread who can actually say they’ve had an ownership stake in something
I’m happy to hear more though, so would you like to share w/ the class what you’ve built / owned? And please don’t tell me it’s a podcast
You need to have an equity stake in a unicorn (if you even know what that is) before you come talk to me.

But at that point he should have been putting effort into his OWN stuff right?I don't know what there situation was after the spotify situation because it seemed like they were struggling to get sponsors after those rants.
I do know that Rory brought sponsors to Joe before he started making money with spotify. He tried bringing up sponsors again when they got the spotify deal and Joe wasn’t interested because he figured spotify was enough.
It's hard to say what rory did after the spotify shyt because by that point he knew he was never gonna be more than a lacky so I don't blame him for not putting in the effort.
So everybody in the writing room get a percentage?
His discographyYeah I know what a 360 is. Now let me ask u a question.
besides the Joe Budden Podcast, what show/podcast/work of Joe Buddens do Uthink is worth millions?
state of the culture?
Pull ups?
Those cartoons?
Those Thot podcast?
wrap all that shyt up and it ain’t close to 40-50 million
And he should have understood the consequences of thatIt sounds like Joe got someone to produce some bullshyt report that supported his narrative of them being overpaid
the only way to see the profit is to have a 3rd party audit the numbers and confirm that is the correct profit
that’s what Rory is doing
