nikka the podcast got STARTED because Joe was moderately famous. It ain’t about other podcasts. We talkin about THIS one. shyt the shyt took off even MORE after Everyday Struggle. Joe Budden was the draw. People tuned in for him. Marisa got fired. They brought an unknown Mal in. The show went on. HE’s the one who had the connections and actually utilized them. People called it Joe Budden’s Podcast before it was officially named that. Joe’s history in the internet, reality TV game such as Joe Budden TV and Love And Hip Hop. His history in radio. And all of that combined with his eccentric personality is what created the draw. If it wasn’t for him. Rosenberg wouldn’t have suggested it in the first place. There would be no Joe Budden podcast without Joe Budden. These nikkas for better or worse. Just talked. And he was the spearhead in that as well. U think the show still goes on if u remove Joe Budden from the fold? U think they still get advertising and all them business interests? No fukkin way. But they get fired. The sho still goes on. As u saw when they left for a few weeks and people liked it BETTER without them there. And that’s not just some net shyt. People literally spoke to me on this shyt in real life on some yo Joe’s podcast better without Rory and Mal. Them nikkas thought they were more valuable than they were. They didn’t play their cards right. Period.

There are bigger celebrities with lesser podcasts, and lesser celebrities with bigger ones.

The pods stand alone. Either they're good, or not.

The success of the pod cannot be attributed to the fact that Joe was moderately famous.

At the end of the day, just be careful with saying equity and legally entitled to. Watch out for yourself at all times and document everything. If you can get got, there is a chance you will be.

Some people don’t know that Elon didn’t start Tesla. He came in shortly after but he wasn’t there from the beginning. It was started by two other dudes.

He provided large amounts of funding and when he got enough power, told one of the cofounders to bounce.


Another example is Snapchat. A lot of people don’t know it was started by 3 dudes, not just Evan & Bobby. It was a 3rd guy named Reggie who even now if you click on his name on Wikipedia, it just redirects you to the lawsuit section.

Reggie actually came up with the concept, logo/mascot, the other two guys got him up out the paint and when shyt went to court, called bruh an UNPAID INTERN.

He eventually settled and got a nice bag, $157 million but compare that to the billions the other two made.

This... it's like saying Keshia Knight Pulliam deserves equity in the Cosby Show, or John Cena deserves equity in WWE, or I deserve equity at a bar or club that I DJ at... nope, you were hired to do a part in something by THE CREATOR of the thing you're performing as part of. It does not at any point give you part-ownership or make you a co-creator unless that's something that was negotiated. If it wasn't, you were a paid employee.

Yeah, but where it gets cloudy is when ppl are friends beforehand, and then they show up, work for FREE and then help the show become successful. I can see why they would think they're owed more, even if they're wrong.

I wouldnt under estimate biggs’ role in this as it relates to communication or the auditing aspect of things. Being mals manager and brother and rory being roc “affiliated?” Theres something larger at play here.

A rory/mal pod will undoubtedly be on tidal, for better or for worse.

I run businesses with both family and my friends alongside myself. The key here is you have to establish norms like working with colleagues, communicate professionally and respectfully. That way it’s business and never personal. It is very tough but once the communication is sorted and everyone is on same page it can work. Keys are respect, professionalism and communication with friends. Joe is all about nah no contract no this no that... that’s your issue buddy, you’re the leader, act like one, a leader should be at fault for the troops being confused. Take accountability

Steam picked up when Mal came because Mal was better than Marisa's thot stories and Mal was a friend of Joe's so that created a good dynamic. shyt PICKED UP FOR REAL after Everyday Struggle. Joe is the leader. Joe has good people to bounce off and it's a hit. Just like anything else. U saying what u sayin. But after a few episodes to prove ur crusade against Joe. U gonna forget about that Rory and Mal shyt. Mal barely has a personality and Rory is Rory. I was sick of all 3 of them nikkas for a minute now. Including Joe. But im not delusional to WHO the main person nikkas is tuning in to hear is. Which is WHY people liked it better when Mal and Rory dipped and was replaced for a lil bit. shyt was a breath of fresh air for people. With WHO at the center of it? JOE. Joe had this.
