This is the reason most relationships have issues. Lack of communication

Nikkas don't wanna fukk up the energy setting/establishing boundaries but the more you do in the front end the less anger and heartbreak you have on the back end. You actually will likely avoid bad blood altogether if you establish certain things in the beginning

If you and your friends are about to get some money together get details out the way then and there before you end up in a situatuon like this

people eventually get comfortable.

I see situations like this w/ small businesses.

Certain employees start feeling themselves and think they're running the show...
...especially if the owner is away for a bit.

Okay, after listening to Joe a bit--his side, of course--and a lil bit of Ak'. I get it, both Rory and Mal were tripping from a business standpoint.

But, you can't be talking about "I'm making all my nikkas millionaires!" then act surprised ppl are feeling seeing you shyt on your (supposedly) "nikkas."

Yeah I wanted to bring up the LeBatard angle a few days ago, but everyone gonna go ahead and ignore it lol. They even talked about it (this situation) a bit yesterday on his (Dan's) podcast too. Pretty similar circumstances (from the outside...again, no matter what y'all keep keepin' on in here about, NOBODY knows what the real facts are), with completely different outcomes. I wonder why that is...

Dan Lebatard (who've I've listened to for years) is NOT Joe Budden

He's a company man in a REBEL costume.

He's real good friends with Skipper, the top dude at ESPN til he was fired for a coke deal.

Rory and Mal should have did with Mandi from horrible decisions did. Get hot and start branching out. Mal could have had a podcast on sports with Brandon Jennings, you don’t think Joe would have brought that on. Rory could have had a podcast with the hennypaloza or some kappa college shyt. These boys was a sleep at the wheel. It happens, hopefully they bounce back don’t want to see a man down.

Well i feel like Joe took the Diddy approach with the whole these are my brothers thing and we're friends, and the way he acts towards them on the show...all the while possibly being a snake, or at the very least, being misleading

Joe, like Kanye comes from the "black leader/preacher" school of manipulation

Where they shout tropes about ownership and freedom, but are ultimately self serving grifters

The playbook is mostly running to black folks to scream LOOK HOW THESE WHITE FOLKS DOIN US(ME) LOOK Y'ALL

After enough time passes you see that although their proclamations are true, they were made in bad faith and selfishness

A perfect recent example is the ALL ARTISTS SHOULD OWN THEIR MASTERS rant Kanye was on a few months ago.

Kanye said all that same ownership/creatives/equity shyt Joe does then Kid Cudi comes out like nikka you own MY masters AND you owe me 3 million dollars

Joe does the same shyt. He always has a fresh crop of stupid loyal nikkas to eat that shyt up and think they're on a moral crusade with him

And again a lot of the shyt Joe says is right, but the intent is shaky

Ehh....kinda different. Every job I've had...whether it's been fast food or corporate, I've had the option to buy in and benefit from the success of the company. IMO it's unrealistic to ask someone working as a 1099 to give a fukk about your business outside of the pay they receive.


Rory said as much when they discussed Dev and MDWOG, and I asked the same thing: why is it frowned upon for me not to give a fukk as much as you about your business? To go further - why should Rory and Mal give a fukk about the network? I work and go home - Rory and Mal are in front of the camera - that's their role. Parks, Savon and dem are behind the camera - of course they have more to do with how the product is viewed and delivered. Lol this nikka Joe trying to finesse nikkas into being mad at Rory and Mal for not loving his podcast network as much as him. fukk that lol

None of these nikkas being discussed are cool bruh

The reason Ak is able to cook Rory and Mal the way he has been because they thought Ak was beneath them. But really they're all the same nikka but Ak is rich off of it

I don’t consider any of them ‘cool’ but people like Rory and Mal at least have friendships and connections with people across industries and they’re able to make certain moves because of that. You get that by being likable and being outside, not by being successful from your basement. Rory is curating a whole album or whatever and it’s largely off relationships he has and musicians he fukks with. Who would be on Akademiks album, 6ix9ine and Celina Powell???


Judging ‘cool’ is subjective but there is a lot to say for just being a likable person who other people gravitate to. I’m not saying Rory and mal are that, but Akademiks barely leaves his house because he knows what time it is if he pops up at any event without security. He’s an industry punching bag. He’s a rich and successful punching bag I’ll give him that. But this the same dude Freddie Gibbs sonned into oblivion. The same guy who Desus and Mero made cry on his own livestream. Ak said the other day how he got bullied in high school and would tear up got sick of it. He got tired of being bullied by the industry and in this instance Rory absolutely picked the wrong one

never understood the lack of ad stuff to be honest. joe argues it breaks up the flow

but he could have one at the beginning and end like many podcasts do.

I think only a handful I listen to do mid roll ads.

Because Joe budden is a damn idiot who didn't understand that having an established revenue stream with sponsors could have been leveraged in a deal.

He really thought people wouldn't listen if they spent 5 minutes on ads at the beginning of the podcast.

and if he really was inclined to keep that no ads philosphy, he gotta patreon now...he could leverage that, since many podcasts use that angle for their patreon.

Even when he's talking about how much money he puts into the podcast and how hard it is makes it sound like he has no idea what the fukk he's doing. Much bigger Podcasters always talk about how cheap and effortless podcasting is.

Joe rogan runs his shyt with just one other person and puts out twice the content, joe budden has like 10 people in the room getting paid to do the work of one person. Losing out on deals while handing out raises with the podcast on a downturn? Something is definitely not adding up,, I'd ask to see the books too.
