I kinda feel like there was something in her contract to prevent her from bringing a lawsuit...which is why they were so open about joking about it

No such thing exists. Harassment or discrimination or anything of that nature can always be sued for.
You can’t waive the right to sue for discrimination via a contract. The only thing you can do is agree to a shortened statute of limitations and even then - those sorts of clauses are not guaranteed to be held up.

NDA's do not cover for harrassment.

That is not true. You didn’t even read your own link and people dapped that up. You can one thousand percent sign and NDA after the conduct arises. You can’t waive the right as a condition of employment. But you can one thousand percent sign an NDA when settling a case at the federal level. New York and NJ also allow you to do so but only if the accuser requests it (which is obviously really just the accused asking for it as a condition of settlement).

Playboy, I appreciate you trying to inform but read what you’re citing to and understand the full scope of the law.

I think we are arguing two different things. The original comment is that there was something in her contract where JBP puts an NDA in there or language that would prevent Mel from suing for harrassment or anything like that which is the illegal part I was referring to.

There is a second part that you are referring to where if she reaches a settlement and receives some kind of payout, and then is asked to sign an NDA as part of the settlement then yes that is absolutely legal and happens all the time. The original comment said nothing about a settlement.

Nah he was correct, what you're talking about pertains to court room settlements not contracts preventing someone from going to court.

That new law is how people like Epstein got exposed, because those NDAs people signed were no longer valid.
