If they can get GSP the card will do numbers. It's his return fight, he's a practically a god in Canada, and Lawler being involved is another plus. If Jones makes easy work of OSP, Jones vs Cormier could potentially be added as well. I think Double Talk Dave is exaggerating a bit on this one.

I watch the Ariel interview and Ariel talking about maybe it has to do with the MMA death that occurred last week

Because UFC doesn't protect their fighters and pad their records like boxing does.

Styles make fights in the UFC and losing doesn't make you a bum like the average casual dikkhead would think, it usually reflects a hole in their game exploited by a bad matchup. Werdum is a good example seeing as it took damn near a decade for his striking to come around, now he's one of the most complete fighters in the UFC
I quote this from another thread. I'm a fan of both boxing and MMA. Usually I would disagree with this post but seeing that the biggest draw in boxing Canelo won't fight his mandatory golovkin at the middleweight weight while holding the middleweight title :patrice:
And seeing as Mcgregor moved up 25 lbs to fight Nate Diaz :patrice:
Seeing Nate Diaz stepped up to take the fight on 2 weeks notice :patrice:
Now contrast this to Canelo who instead chose to fight Amir Khan who is known to have a weak chin and was knocked out at 135, has beaten no one elite at 147 and moving up in weight a ton to 157 or so. :dame:
Not to mention canelo after the weigh in can come rehydrate to 170 making it worse for Khan. This guy wants Golovkin to move down in weight to fight his mandatory middleweight opponent at a weight lower than middle and he's probably naturally bigger than Golovkin. :dame:
And Didn't he win the middleweight title which is 160 lbs at a catchweight of 155 lbs against a guy like cotto started out at 140 lbs (he moved up in weight and won it to be fair but yeah)
And Conor was willing to move up to 170 on a whim :dame:
Now I ain't on Conor's nuts and I've said mutliple times why I ain't a fan but boxing is full of some suspect shyt and it is frustrating as hell as a fight fan to see this shyt :snoop:

Conor can make money elsewhere. He's got that "IT" factor where he could do other things. The UFC has lost big names and still soldiered on despite it. A couple of years ago Conor was just another fighter. The UFC won't be able to dodge this issue forever, they're number one by default. If Bellator can start snatching up some disenfranchised top names, it's gonna get interesting.
That won't be good for the sport...

We need a clear cut professional league, minor league and amateur league...Too many organizations and the shiz will turn into boxing and we will be forced to watch fighters when they are Dada5000 vs Kimbo Slice status...

We need ONE league where 95% of the best fighters fight...The UFC needs to stop being greedy and establish a profit sharing grid with the fighters....

Another fighter dying scared Conor, because he already has doubts about beating Nate Diaz, but he knows for SURE it will be another bloody affair with lethal blows...So, Conor uses his leverage to cash out from this Nate Diaz fight...

Conor is HUGE, Diaz is BIG, UFC200 is symbolically significant...A LOT of money will be made on that night...It is smart of Conor to reach for the pot of gold now that it is filled to the brim...

Basically, Conor has been reminded that EVERY time he steps in the Octagon, he is putting his life on the line, and because he knows he has leverage and UFC200 will be a huge pot of gold, he has decided to make a move and earn enough money to retire...

Dude is trying to secure his future and that of his family...Bold move...:salute:

Competition is good for any company. Currently there are four championships held by former Strikeforce fighters. UFC pays them shyt because they have no competition, if Bellator signed some of there top fighters away it would force them to pay more to keep fighters.

Not when it comes to sports...It is better to have the NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC and etc...

For example, if Holly Holm was Bellator champ and Ronda was UFC champ, the media would still be going on about "Ronda is invincible"...Because the UFC has more money, AUTOMATICALLY, it would give Ronda's belt MORE validity than Holm's...

But thankfully, both women fight in the UFC and we know the TRUTH...Not fan driven emotional arguments...

Another example, if Miesha Tate was champ in RIZIN, I would have NEVER picked her to beat Holly Holm in a million years (I still think Miesha is a WEAK fighter)...But Miesha put Holly to sleep...

Conclusion, 1 League with all the best talent is BETTER than a whole bunch of leagues all claiming their championship is the best, but never making the fights to prove it...

The pay thing has ZERO to do with the UFC "not having competition"...It has more to do with the fact that MMA is starting out and the money is not that great yet, and the bosses are greedy...

The MLB has ZERO competition, but they hand out 200M contracts to fat guys to just stand around and do nothing for 95% of the game...

You're comparing apples to oranges breh. The NBA, NFL, MLB have been around forever, MMA is an infant compared to those other sports and is not as popular if we're being honest. Do those other sports you mentioned not have a pecking order? You have a handful of teams who more or less dominate their respective sport.
