You're comparing apples to oranges breh. The NBA, NFL, MLB have been around forever, MMA is an infant compared to those other sports and is not as popular if we're being honest. Do those other sports you mentioned not have a pecking order? You have a handful of teams who more or less dominate their respective sport.
(1) That "apples vs oranges" argument can be used to defend almost anything...I reject that deposit...

(2) Whether the other leagues have been around forever is IRRELEVANT...Because the UFC could be "around forever"...This is a matter of time...

(3) I am not against a "pecking order" within 1 League, I am against MULTIPLE leagues with each having their own "pecking order"...I don't care if it is the UFC, RIZIN, Belator or some future organization...I just HOPE for the sake of high level competition, that there is only ONE organization in the USA for MMA...

It will be so much better if every country had ONE Top Tier organization, and then we can move to having "World Cup" type of competitions...

MMA went through a dark period before, it could very well happen again. Finally getting legal in NY is a huge win for MMA as a whole, it's an untapped market and UFC would be wise to not rely on one fighter to carry the promotion. They could have many guys doing good to great PPV buys if they promoted them properly.

That has to be just his last three fights, he wasn't headlining PPV's until the Mendes fight. No way he was bringing in that much before then.

Probably a 2015 based stat. I remember reading a story that of all the PPV buys last year; Ronda, Conor and Jones were responsible for more than half the total. Can't find it now though.

I think that's the still long term key for UFC. To make this buisness plan work without having to rely on ppv's.

Dana wants ufc 2 be official like those other pro leagues, but as long as they rely on ppv dollars their model will still follow WWE.

They've gotta find a way to convert these ppv crowds who are willing 2 spend money to view to turn into regular cable TV say on a Saturday at 4pm to watch. Or a week nite to watch and no not ultimate fighter show. But each wk or every 2 wks a real card.
