There are lots of great 205ers that Silva can fight. Why is only Jon Bones Jones on the table? Why not Rampage vs A. Silva? Dan Henderson again? Shogun? Rashad? I bet a Rampage fight would sell very well.

I think A. Silva should just take a heavyweight too just to have that notch on his belt. A smallish heavyweight of course.

Ill give u that that could be the case...but i guarantee Jones ragdolls him in the cage. Hes just simply not going to stand with him, and EASILY puts him on his back. Easily, all 5 rounds if need be

:dwillhuh: How he he going to do that. He cant outstrike anderson for one. His boxing is not better then andersons. His kicks will be countered. He is too green for a fighter of Andersons calibre. He will make critical mistakes that he can get away with on lesser fighters but the spider will make him pay for immediately. He definately cannot knock anderson out. HE CANNOT KNOCK HIM OUT:ufdup: He hasnt knocked out anyone since 2008. Anderson already set the stage for the fight by what he did to Bonnar, EFFORTLESSLY. A man Jones couldnt even finish. He cannot put fear in his heart in striking to make anderson stand in awe of him like Rampage did. Andersons counter punching is incredible. He is the best in the ufc at that.

Jones can like you said take Anderson down where i feel he may be able to get a Vitor like arm lock... if he can hold anderson down long enough or he can grind out 5 rounds with takedowns and safe striking and make it a nice boring fight but i dont see Anderson allowing that. I think taking him down and stalling on the bottom is his best bet because if they stand for too long, he will get dropped and TKO'd. This is the outcome of the fight i see. Him dropped and TKO'd because he thought he could stand, with the Spider.

He has 2 fights on his contract and wants to get paid before he retires and the UFC wants him to lose before he leaves their organization.

Hes gonna ragdoll him because Jones makes Great wrestlers look like they've never wrestled before..he takes down everyone with ease

I can guarantee Jones doesnt get caught slippin in the guard again...he even admitted he needs to embrace jiujitsu more, and hes smart enough/trains with a good enough team to limit that from happening...props to vitor, he pushed off the cage and hit that with the quickness :whew:, but its not happening with Anderson.

agreed that Jones wont win a standup fight with Anderson, but thats the thing...hes not going to stand with him longer than he has too, since he has that choice any time to dictate where the fight goes

He wont stand because he will get dropped and he will get dropped. Hes not rag dolling anyone. Hes never fought a striker of Andersons calibre and after anderson beats him he never will again. Hes not Vitor, another man Anderson finished faster then Jones, and Ko'd.

You're just not seeing the bigger picture that Jones is GOAT but hes just not GOATER then then Anderson. You'll see that though.

when i say ragdoll im saying, throw him around the cage...double legs, trips, throws

Styles make matchups...Chael Sonnen was a tough mathup for Silva, thats why he struggled in that first fight...Jones is a fukkin nightmare of a matchup

He struggled in the first fight because he had a busted rib. He didnt struggle in the second fight, when he TKO'd him.

Jones wont be throwing. Single legs only, if that. You're acting like it wont be a fight but it will, thankfully. A fight where JOnes get Tko'd. I think we've covered all our bases here. May the best man win, Anderson.

yeah i do think that silva would win a match up with jones.. jones would have to abandon all striking and close the distance and grapple with him and even then he exposes himself getting that close.. jones cant just hold him down the whole fight cause he still has to fight in the ufc after this fight.. silva just has dangerous bjj to move so much in guard and could end the fight with the miss of any of his goofy ass attacks..

he cant approach silva and toss him on his head like those other guys.. what was he really worrying about from bader or bonnar? i seen a barely mobile rampage stuff his takedowns and have chances to ko jones after his big swings and misses.. gotta give the benefit of the doubt to anderson here

idk how much silva is trying to get outta the ufc but i remember them talking about him fighting frank mir and i been wanting them to throw rashad and shogun in there with em and see the fireworks.. especially since their title hopes in 205 are dim anyway..

I hear that. I know he's getting old and he's been talking retirement for years now but I don't really buy into him actually retiring. He'll finish his contract, but there will be other fighters (Diaz, Hendricks, Gustaffson) that will come up and he'll have another contract to fight again.

We cant predict the future. We are not Anderson Silva.

Anderson has generally only looked bad against grapplers when coming off surgery/injury. Lutter took him down at will because he'd had knee surgery about 3 months prior, I'll buy the Sonnen rib injury too at face value. Hendo got too comfy on the feet and got worked. Jones matches up well with Silva tho because of that reach and athleticism. Those damn throws and the elbows from the guard, this isn't Sonnen or Lutter pitter patting on top we are talking about, Jones can and will hurt him there. Anderson counters and times amazingly without even trying at times but Jones length overcomes his deficiencies in striking.

Wouldn't count Anderson out at all, if anyone can set the blueprint on giving him the business that's your guy, but if that fight happens I'm betting Bones

this for the simple fact american mma is skewed way heavily towards wrestlers. All jones has to do is take silva down (and he will) and he will score highly.Add to that hes not the type to just rest in the guard so the damage he causes with elbows would def sway judges even if AS is more active from beneath..

That damn King Mo v Mousassi fight immediately comes to mind.

The thing about Anderson is that I'm more convinced that he can submit Jones from the bottom, vitor has shown the way
