Not sure where you got that from, but here's the actual story. Its from some shyt from 2002 and says the fight isnt in jeopardy.

Old legal issue delays Mark Hunt's UFC 160 travel plans; heavyweight believes Junior dos Santos fight will happen - MMA Fighting

whats funny is that Japan has way stricter laws about entering the country and dude gets in there with no problems :laugh. And sounds like a true islander in that story, Cop told him if he asks the same question one more time he will be arrested and what does he do

ask the same question :dead:

What exactly was "ridiculous and arrogant" about what he said?
Jon 'Bones' Jones Interview - The Breakfast Club (Power 105.1) - YouTube

It doesn't sound as bad in context but he shouldn't have taken the bait when Envy brought that up. Jones would easily defeat Floyd in MMA but he should know better than to talk about another athlete like this when they have nothing to do with each other.

To answer your question, he diminished from Floyd Mayweather and his craft for absolutely no reason and he's a well below average boxer (below average even by MMA standards) but he takes it upon himself to say he would give the best boxer in the world and one of the best to ever do it a hard time with no real experience. Just pure delusion and pointless self praise. He would never take the opportunity to back this statement up either which makes it all the more pointless and unnecessary on his part.

Look up that video of Jones sparring with Holly Holm. I know it's practice but his boxing is horrible. He has size and reach but lacks a jab and instead relies heavily on an oblique kick, wrestling and sticking his hand into his opponents' face to keep distance. He's also slow as shyt compared to Floyd (speed is a MUST in boxing) and would have no idea what to do in the pocket after Floyd easily slips his (by boxing standards) slow as molasses punches and gets inside.

Ummmm.. No.. Floyd is 140lbs soaking wet.. Jones walks around probably 220+lbs and has a wingspan of a 7 footer. Jones is NOT a better boxer but it doesn't matter with his size, athleticism and fight experience. If they were the same size, then obviously Floyd would tool him but they're not.

Would the Klitschkos beat Jose Aldo in MMA?

That's not fair. MMA's got more tools. Boxing's more rigid so a BIG MMA fighter is safer in that world.

Jose would be favored but it would be risky for him. Jose is pretty small.

Remember it's not like a pro fighter vs. average joe. The comparisons are still trained in-shape fighters at the top of a fighting sport. Just like NFL players could make great Rugby players.

For all the people that think Weidman has no chance: Silva is a -240 favorite, so you should be betting big.

I get what you're saying I just think speed and technical ability is just too important in boxing. Jones would be whiffing air with most of his best punches while Floyd would be destroying his body from the pocket with (relative) blinding speed. Jones just lacks the technical tools to do much. His lack of jab, defense, type of stance and very poor use of reach (from a boxing standpoint, his use of reach in MMA is top notch) would negate his physical advantages.

He's a trained, athletic fighter but it's just a matter of fact that Jones can't box.

^^This guy's an Olympic boxer who fights at super middleweight and he's completely showing Junior dos Santos up. JDS is obviously the best heavyweight boxer in MMA but his relative lack of speed and technique are exposed in this video. Mayweather is the very best guy in boxing and a guy who lived and breathed boxing pretty much since birth.

As much as I like Jon Jones, the Klitch brothers would obliertered any MMA fighter, in the ring, octagon, an alley, whatever

Only if its stand up only. I love the Klitchsko's but even Wladimir said he wouldn't be interested in transitioning into MMA because he prefers to concentrate on one skill

No they'd get James Toney'd in MMA. They'd lose to guys in the welterweight class. GSP was able to easily take down a 6 foot 4 250 lbs hockey enforcer named Georges Laroque in an exhibition using pure technique and the same would happen to the Klitch's in MMA. The fukk would they be able to do off their backs after getting taken down? Cain, Cormier, Jones, Barnett etc. would monster them in the Octagon.

Boxers will not beat MMA fighters in MMA

MMA fighters will not beat boxers in boxing

:mindblown: Why is this concept so difficult to grasp?

The streets is where it gets interesting though. I think fighters like Floyd, B-Hop and prime Tyson would shine more than most.

Mayoga just won an MMA about
Ray Mercyer KO's Tim Slyvia with one punch
they've already done it
boxers 2-1 versus MMA guys
when will an MMA guy step in the ring, never
KJ Noons is a pro boxer, but his garbage and will never be a contender
he even bigs wit the boxers telling these nikkaz they don't understand the damage they can cause with just their hands, nikkaz think its game

James Toney is garbage
he was fat and out of shape, looking for a check
not to mention middleweight was he best, he never beat any hall of famers there, he got embarrassed by Roy Jones he did not belong in the same ring as him.

He got NC against John Ruiz, the same guy Roy beat for the heavyweight belt, and tested postitive for steriouds

his record is padded with bums, only name he beat was Evander Holyfield, because Evander was old as fukk.

Stop bringing him up.

The best puncher Jon Jones face was Shogun, and Freddie Roach said he punched like a girl when he came to his gym.

A lot of that ground game will not work in the street, because he perform moves that are illegal in MMA, just like Moyaga did with that knee
he gave the nikka the business showing him in a real fight a lot of MMA tactics will be useless as well
