Roman, who do you hate more, Ronda or Jon?

Anyway, I love Jon's "heel turn". MMA fans hate him anyway and it's not like the guy doesn't train hard so he respects all of his opponents. We all know if Chael gets by Forrest that they'll wanna give him a shot. I, personally, feel The Mauler deserves the next shot but a Sonnen-Jones ppv would do numbers and I don't necessarily see Bader as a better win than Griffin.:manny:

Then again, I'm not sure Sonnen beats Griffin.:obama:

Pretty much. Plus, him and his camp turned down a fight with Weidman.

I'm not sure what the fascination is with huge, muscular men.

I could understand hating the lighter divisions if they consistently put on bad fights. But, that's not the case. It seems like some fans dislike them STRICTLY because of their size.

Also, the BW division has averaged more finishes than the WW division in 2012.

Frank Mir had a point tho about 220lb couch warriors who feel like "what could a bantamweight" etc do to me. Hurts the aura of being a fighter by being small because so many people associate size with power. Which is sad and wrong.

Jones might as well embrace his heelishness. People aren't going to let him win no matter what he says, how he says it, or if its true or not. .. until he suffers a humbling defeat in the cage. It seems like that's what people want. The Internet is going to be a funny place if he manhandles Hendo like he's capable

what has weidman done to deserve a fight with anderson?

just because he beat munoz doesnt put him in the picture

weidman has potential but he has to earn it, a top 5 win and you consider him

i would actually like to see him fight rashad and the winner get anderson

If ppl are hating on the lighter weight divs I think its because they are sick of sparring matches with no indication of a finish in sight. At least with l&prs u know what u are getting from the jump and u can get away from the cpu/tv and do something else. But with point fighters u stay for the whole fight living in hope to see something else happen other that circling & tapping (sometimes it does) mostly it doesnt. And by the end u just feel like u wasted 15-25 mins of your life u cant get back

quoted for truth.

The whole 'people don't want to see lighter weight fighters' thing makes me laugh. Way too many lighter weight stars in boxing history that contradict that statement. Julio Cesar Chavez, DLH, Mayweather, Pac Man, Sugar Ray, etc.

As for Jones talking about Machida, it's posturing. He just wants more $ to take that fight. I agree that the fight really isn't that interesting though. It took him 1 round to figure out Machida. I don't see a rematch going any different.

Since when does a finish equate to a better fight. Did you watch Mir/Cro Cop?

Jose Aldo, Joseph Benevidez, Michael MacDonald, Korean Zombie, Erik Koch, Dustin Poirier, and Diego Brandao are some of the names that disagree with the bolded. If we're including the LW division, there are many more fighters that I can list.

Chael would need at least 2-3 wins before facing Jon, I'm sure the UFC feels the same way. I agree with your Alex Gustafasson comment about getting the next shot, I want somebody new facing Jon Jones, not somebody he's brutally finished a year ago (this is coming from a HUGE Machida fan). I just believe that Machida needs one more top 5 or 10 win before he can fight for the title. Although, if there's is anyone that can beat Jon in the LHW division, it's Machida.

Right now, Bader is a much better win than Griffin. Forrest needs to retire, he has shown very little drive/heart/desire recently.

Sonnen is going to beat Griffin handily, I think he's going to finish him as well :O

Jon Jones is much bigger than Hendo, he should be able to man handle him. Also, with Hendo's mediocre gas tank, I see Jon getting a late finish. I hope Jones gets KO'd though.

Munoz was ranked in the top 5 when Weidman beat him. Weidman is by far the most deserving MW contender for Silva. He's on a 5 fight UFC win streak, and he has a top 5 (Munoz) and a top 10 win (Maia). Name me one MW fighter that is more deserving than him.

Having said all that, I like the idea of Rashad/Weidman for the next title shot.

That's what I'm thinking as well. If boxing fans can enjoy the lighter weight classes, why can't MMA fans?

Cant believe we have reached the stage where fighters are citing ppv buys for reasons not to take fights, isnt that zuffa's call? he was better off going down the "it was a low ppv buy no one wanted to see that fight" Rather than personalizing it like a douche..In saying that if that headliner was jones lowest ppv buy isnt that an indication of how spoilt ufc fans are? machida might've lost his mystique but hes still a contender with mad skills. And jones had the whole "jones era" thing going, which machida once had and lost overnight.Coupled with the bootleg anderson silva but with wrestling angle I dont know how a fan wouldnt at least be intrigued...

ps Not going to be able to see it live so will just make my prediction for tonights main event.Ronda is going to get tooled something vicious. While ronda talks, acts and looks tough Kauffman just is.She is going to expose ronda for her lack of striking and make her pay for it.Might even take it to the ground to give RR some hope then once she fails at her one trick in comes the brutal g&P.

Besides any time the stars align for MMA something always Fs it up. Now FMMA has a face that actually has a following shes going to get obliterated & it will be blamed on the extracurricular stuff rather than the fact she was obviously pushed too fast..

The follow up to this should be fun, I know you are :dwillhuh: at Kaufman's performance

MMA has turned into boxing.

i mean you try to keep the champions from dictating who and when they fight to keep everyone hungry but when you crush all top contenders like anderson or jones its kinda hard to bully them..

then they nitpick the fights even if its the most common sense to make

Read what was written, there are matches that start out like a game of tag and u just know that both fighters are fighting not to lose. This is what I am talking about to bring up the mir/cro fight it a bit irrelevant because while the fight did produce a finish eventually (albeit flukey) they fought in that exact style and nearly went into a decision stinking up the joint
That's what I'm thinking as well. If boxing fans can enjoy the lighter weight classes, why can't MMA fans?
What choice do they have now that there are no stars/storylines in the other weighclasses? And If most of the lighterweightclasses in boxing fought in a variation of FMW style believe me that fanbase would shrink.

I m still in shock to be frank, I have been wrong many a times but this one was a real head scratcher, never seen kauffman that timid. She was literally outthere doin the dosey doe rather than letting loose. The way RR got her to the cage and swooped her feet was so effortless. And u can tell RR was operating on nervous energy not unlike brock..There was no pre-fight trash talk/drama and kauffman barely got any press comin into this so stage fright cant be used here.I wonder if RR's fighting weight once she rehydrates is flirting with 140+ because shes had a considerable size/strength advantage over tate/kauffman.

I hate to copy gsfag but I am still not impressed by her performance (was moreso for the tate fight) The way she bullrushed and attempted that "armbar" for dear life sort of tells u shes got no contingency plan once that fails. I want to see heel hooks or in the very least a triangle choke for once.Broad gives a whole new meaning to the word one trick pony

ps and tate should be ashamed of herself she made kedzie look like a worldbeater out there bad bad win but from a narrative pov kind of neat that she finished her with an armbar

:rudy:

Tell them other bytches to stop that 1 trick:pacspit:

LOL@ bullrush! She is an OLYMPIC Silver medalist her technique is THAT good stop hating breh:birdman:

Tripped kaufman right into full mount and it was all over. The fukk she has to try any other submission when that armbar is MONEY every time :win:

Now her striking still needs a lot of work. The way she keeps her head stiff and straight up like that is not wassup. But as long as these chicks engage in a clinch battle with her she will keep winning

She wont ever be tested until she fights someone who will avoid the clinch at all costs and i think Cyborg might be the one to do it. Even then im not so sure if she could stuff one of Ronda's throws or trips. People are sleeping on how strong Ronda is in the clinch

Based on what you wrote, I thought that you were implying that finishes equates to better fights. Hence, why I mentioned Mir/Cro Cop, a fight that had a finish, but was horrible.

Lighter weight fights are far from sparring matches. Also, I can't think of many fights from the lower weight classes that were like the Mir/Cro Cop fight.
