How would he be ridiculed? For taking a fight on 8 days notice? If anything it would've helped his popularity.

Everybody wants to say that MMA is a legit sport and blah, blah, blah, but when have we ever seen a basketball player or a football player get hurt, not play in a game, and all the sudden, the commissioner is like, 'You know what? Since Peyton Manning or LeBron James is injured, we're going to cancel this game.' When have ya'll ever seen that? I saw Tim Duncan sit out 10-15 games because he wasn't feeling well. They didn't cancel any of the games because he wasn't playing. The games went on. If this is a true sport, the show goes on.

just 2 years ago co-mains would get bumped up to the main event and for the most part it was ok why not

I dont get how people can be pissed at Jones. For 1. What champion takes a CHAMPIONSHIP fight with 8 days to prepare for their specific opponent . 2. Sonnen just lost his last championship fight in a lower weight class. I would be a pissed 205 fighter if he just jumped the line like that. Dana is pissed because his main money maker refused to fight someone who was just thrown at him. If he was smart, he would always have a co-main event and throw a couple of young up and coming fighters on the card to compensate. If somebody else me to defend by belt with a week in preparation just so the show can go on, damn that. Anybody can take the fall and do it, but not your champion.

true. I'm still heated cuhz I was gonna order this PPV to watch with my fam and friends too. All I know is, whether Bones likes it or not, the dude is now the most hated dude in all of MMA all because of this choice, and his image was already bad, now its at its absolute worst now.
