So Ariel says that Aldo vs Edgar isn't the co main event for 200.
I don't believe it. What other fight can they make?
Damn, I think I am more psyched for UFC Fight Night 88 (May 29th) then this supposed super card UFC 200. Fight Night 88 is stacked:

Don't mind spending the bread to see Nick or Nate fight

Love GSP, I really don't want to see him get KO'd by RobbieThe supposed plan is Lawler/GSP for the 170 title at the PPV. I dont think GSP will fight though.

It really doesn't matter to me if he defends his belt or not...You seriously think he's ever fighting at FW again? The dude looks emaciated at that weight, and by the end of the year it would be a year since he fought at that weight. Roy Jones went up and down in weight dramatically and it ended his prime prematurely.
Well since it doesn't matter to you I guess it's ok thanIt really doesn't matter to me if he defends his belt or not...

(1) YesWell since it doesn't matter to you I guess it's ok than![]()

So what?! I guess they should just schedule Conor/Diaz 3 since that'll sell more.Thank u for speaking da truth. Frankie hasn't been a big draw in a long time. U feed em 2 aldo, get aldo sum in ring time 2 shake da rust off and bring Connor in ring after fight for a rematch.
If Edgar wins, uve now showcased him over aldo for the casual fans, now u can bring in Connor for a stare down and start the hype train.
Some of you guys are really taking this ufc 200 ish too seriously. Like fox and da ufc really care about having da best 'fights' and matchups. 200, 201,239 it's jus a number, ufc is an entertainment company jus like Vince and WWE. They gonna put da fights dat they cn sell now and or setup future money. It's a hype fest, dis ain't like nba or nfl where u get best team vs 2ne best tm. U get hype up vs hype up and ufc mks 99% of da money and always wins.
Every1 callin dana Vince McMahon they both rich owners of entertainment companies, and use their position to hype market fights. So no wonder they both seem da same.
Edgar/McGregor would have been exciting and they could have put Diaz on the card against RDA. Having your healthy champ fight 2 weight classes in a rematch against a guy he couldn't go two rounds with while 2 contenders in his actual weight class fight each other makes no damn sense no matter how you put it. And why even sht on Edgar's win streak. He won his last fight,
unlike McGregor
.(1) Yes
(2) The belt is a trinket used to sucker in some fans...For other fans, it often gets in the way of the most interesting fights that can be made...Look at what it is doing to you and the mma media because McGregor is not too keen to defend it soon...
Another example, when Holly Holm had the belt, she was on some "I am here to fight...I fight for the love it...I will fight Cybog" shiz, she loses the belt, and the Cyborg fight is now a REAL possibility, and now she doesn't want it because she knows Miesha Tate is the EASIEST fight and it comes with a belt...Suddenly that warrior talk is out the window...
(3) Let us look at Aldo's Championship run...25% of his title defenses were against Chad Mendes (2/7)...Dude did not wreck the FW division...He fought selected guys...So, we don't really know if he can go down that division and beat anybody not named Conor McGregor...Because Champs don't defend by going down the list of their division...
Since it is pretty clear that styles make fights, how legitimate is a championship if he thought 1 guy twice, and Kenny Florian and Frankie were a selected contenders...
The ONLY legitimate Champ is Jon Jones...Dude beat 1 champ after the other...He literally went through a dark tunnel filled with BEASTS and came out on the other side...
(4) I am not saying this diss Aldo...I am just using him as example to express why I believe for the most part, Belts and Rankings are USELESS...They are there to keep fans and the media talking...
But most Champs don't go down the list to defend the belt...They are given selected opponents...Even Conor McGregor, his championship is SUPER SUSPECT...He was given strategic opponents...I DO NOT believe McGregor could start at #11 and move up the FW division...If that was the path to the championship, MOST champs would not make it to the top...
Only Jon Bones Jones would have the best chance...

Wait wait, he was saying that Diaz is more dangerous than Edgar? I assumed he meant when Conor was going to face RDA![]()
1. Nate Diaz is a lightweight and so is Conor
McChicken is a former Cage Warriors lightweight champion, and it's WELL KNOWN that he struggles to make weight at 145 (looks like Skeletor). He weighed 1 pound less than Nate at "welterweight", which was pretty much an open-weight fight. 169 over 168 makes you a bigger fighter![]()
? Nah, McGregor finally fought someone his own size (a fellow lightweight) in a freak openweight bout on 2 weeks notice and got tapped out
.
2. Frankie Edgar is a wrestler, and a world champion level fighter
And he mauled Mendes, who with 2 weeks notice gave McChicken all he could handle. He excels at McGregor's weakness (wrestling), and that alone makes him the far more dangerous fighter. It's no secret Conor's ground game is mediocre, and Edgar who wrestled and dominated BJ Penn on the floor can and most likely will tap out McGregor when (not if) the fight goes there. McChicken was doing fine against Nate until that second round, and got himself tapped out by going for a shot on a BJJ black belt while he was gassed (that take down attempt was all on him). Frankie will put him there against his will and beat the hell out of him.
Nate is a contender, but Frankie is an ALL TIME top MMA fighter and a former UFC champion, which brings me to...
3. Frankie Edgar is the former UFC lightweight champion
He only lost to Maynard and Henderson in VERY VERY VERY close, contested fights that went the distance. Gray is one of the biggest LW of all time and Benson is a current WW to give you an indication. Frankie is a proven better lightweight fighter than Nate Diaz, you must of forgot who he is and what he's done in the sport.
Yes MMA does bring out the dumbest fans, and you're one of the very best examples.
Nate Diaz has 4 (T)KOs in his entire career, including 2 cans and his best scalp is broken Gray Maynard. Guess who broke that boy's chin? FRANKIE EDGAR. So before people can just go with discounting Frankie KOing Mendes faster than anybody and ignoring the fact that he wasn't taken down, unlike Conor and Aldo, just remember that. Edgar is more dangerous and more proven than 10 losses Diaz. I've been picking Edgar to beat Conor for a long time, anyway.
Oh and Benson dropped Diaz multiple times when he was at the height of his game (beat Miller and Cerrone) and Nate didn't win a second of that match. Edgar had 2 close fights with Benson and dropped him once.
