Thats the part I jus dont get in this post, so many ppl boostin up Weidman like hes a great finisher and already proven, when he's beaten the likes of Galvao? We talkin a match against the Anderson, and dis dude Weidman gotta prop up victories over Galvao

I think a lot of it is people waiting on Anderson to slip because of age.

If that age, or chin/head games things suddenly hits Anderson this fight which is possible, will ever1 boost Weidman and think he's that good? Or will we just chalk it up to father time?

As many greats suddenly jus couldnt take a punch ne more, Fedor n Chuck as examples.

fedor and chuck took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more damage over their careers than anderson has though.

I agree with most of this post but the bit in bold.If everything goes to script we are in store for an ugly l&p affair. It will be a travesty to see anderson's run end in such a fashion.Weidman is also still unproven as already stated. There is nothing great about a younger bigger wrestler exploiting a senior citizen's wrestling deficency only to lose to a micheal bisbing or something in the next fight

It's mma...if you have a deficiency...you have a deficiency....I don't really think Silva's wrestling is bad. It's just that it looks bad in comparison to his other skills. And I stand by my statement b/c in MMA it's hard to hide a fighter. No real amateur circuit and the fighters are all pretty much federated. You fight for a company so you gotta fight whoever's employed there. You can be 9-0 and still have a reasonable shot against the greats if you're a specialist at 1 thing. It's not like boxing where dudes have to have 25 or 30 fights, fight mostly cans, and be undefeated or only once-blemished to get a big title shot. i think that's a good thing about mma :yeshrug:

And yeah the Liddell and Fedors of the world took mor damage in their fights but AS has been doing muay thai since he was a teen and you know there were wars in the Chute Boxe gym.

And remember Anderson also trained in real boxing and had a few matches there so his head got scrambled a bit. And I remember every1 use to say those old team blackhouse training n sparrin sessions were wars. Dudes wld get dropped out cold in practice.

But your statement on hiding is completely false imo. Weidman is getting a title shot, with a pretty shotty list of ufc vets faced. He beat Munoz, who b4 that had beaten Chris leben and a WW now in Maia and CB Dollaway.

Weidman has also beat tom lawlor, jesse bonfeldt and Maia himself. oh yeah can't forget top 10 ranked alesso sakara. Weidman looks like he has been following the tried tru tradition of earning a titleshot the way boxers did back in the days.
