hmmm.. Apparently Jon Jones VS Gustaffson is on for the end of the year? I guess they threw Machida in the bushes.

Dude just had his foot explode on pay per view...I'm surprised they even want him to fight again this year. They work Jones way too much.


I thought Machida and Gustaffson were gonna fight and the winner would get Jones.....whatever....I always felt Gustaffson had the best chance at beating Jones. He's an inch taller...good takedown defense and he could just neglect kicks and try to box Jon up.

I thought they were going to put Jones on the backburner to wait for after the Anderson Silva fight. Maybe UFC isn't that confident that Silva will beat Weidman? Sad that Jones is just beating up bums. There are monsters for him to slay in HW.

I think Machida is Jones' only notable victory.The rest were pretty washed up fighters with big names who were in their prime 5+ years ago.

who else they gonna get to headline, UFC biggest star is GSP, he barely fights, and also his last few bouts haven't been too good, and the only most see fighters are Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, mma talent pool is low

It looked bad but it's a minor injury. I heard the fight possibly isn't until almost Decemeber which is a long time.

Gust doesn't have shyt for Jones. His reach is like a half inch longer than GSP. He'll get beat up everywhere. He's not even in the same galaxy as far as strenght goes. Jones will put him on his ass and over power him with a sub if needs to.

That goes for everyone at 205. Thank god we're getting closer to Jones moving to HW.

Sorry but Gustaffson has zero change against Jones. He'll get taken down, gnp and bloodied up wit elbows so quick, ppl will be asking for their money back. Not sure if you've actually watched any Gustaffson fights, but he has no take down defense. THe best wrestler he faced Phil Davis, beat em n took him down no problem.

Outside of Phil davis, who has gust faced that is a dominate wrestler to say he has good take down defense, Rua, Thiago Silva, old man Matyushenko, or a 185 pd Hamil? I can see Jones smothering Gust right off the bell much like he did Sonnen, not even give Gust a change to setup a kick or strike.

but Phil Davis did get him down, and finish him. And Phil Davis may be a decorated amateur wrestler, while in the UFC he still isn't one of the top MMA wrestlers.

I wouldn't compare the likes of a Thiago silva, Shogun, and phil davis to a Bones Jones, and even remotely think he has a chance to stop Bones takedowns and trips.

Nobody expected Jones to outwrestle AND outstrike Shogun...he had Shogun on queer street with the 1st jumping knee of the fight. He made Shogun tap out(ref stopped it b/f he saw it, I know) to a body shot.

It had been years since Rampage got whooped like he did @ 135. It had been about a decade since Rampage tapped. Glover didn't look that good. Bader almost died in the 2nd round.

LHW was a hot potato division b/f Jones came along...but now all of a sudden, it was a flabbyNsick weight class with bums?

And yeah, Gustaffson's arms are kinda short for the frame that he has...but he has power. Not saying he's gonna win but I wouldn't be OVERLY surprised.

Making a Chute Boxe raised fighter Tap to strikes is a statement, thats was when I was like Jon Jones is a problem.


I don't hate the Goose fight even tho I expect Jones to finish him with a choke. i'd rather Glover Texeira v Jones. I don't know that id bet anything on Glover but itd be a fun fight. if only Glover had a few top shelf scalps on his résumé. Not that that that minor detail stopped Sonnen from a crack at Jones
