@Art Barr you watching any of the aussie? Gotten back on the court?

@BigScust
Stop watching when andre retired.
Pro dreams died eighteen years ago.
when becoming a father.
crippled my ability to play year round as a prospective challenger circuit pro.
Plus the ability to find diverse hitting partners.
of my ilk and skill level.
Was a consistent running theme as well.
Pro dreams died like every black guy in my gen. who had kids outta wedlock.
It is a simple cliche at this point.

I do not even think about tennis tbh.

Thanks for asking tho.

Preciate it handshake.

Understood, we've discussed briefly in the past and you had mentioned you were considering getting back on the court. If you have some free time in the wee hours check out a match for a few minutes maybe itll be the spark you need.

As for this match, I gotta give Sissy credit. Hes blitzkrieging Sinner and coming to the net old school style. I cant stand him generally for the shameless coaching violations and such but I cannot hate on him out planning and executing Sinner to this point.

Sinner biggest problems right now are leaving his shots waist height and also in the middle of the court.

Either below the knee or above the waist and on the outside 25% of the courts against Tsi

Up the T deuce side out wide Ad side with a kick and margin. Even stand further out wide to increase the margin even more. Hes avoiding backhand return of serves like the plague. And even when sinner kicks it wide he fukks up on that second shot by leaving it in the middle. He did it one time in his first service game of the first set where he whipped a winner down the line and most other times since have been mid garbage and allowing Stefanos to dictate the point with his forehand

Maybe the moment is too big for him right now

McEnroe has the same question that I have in regards to Sinner and intensity. The dude is like Borg out there. We wont see the motivation and will to win until he does it. And if hes not doing it, it begs the question if he has it in him to come back from big deficits. The concern with these types of players is that they are essentially front runners because their playstyle isn't volatile. If they are underperforming they are likely to stay underperforming within variance because of lack of extra non physical variables

I think if Sinner doesnt force a TB 2nd set (regardless of win) then he might be cooked but I'd be delighted to be wrong

One of the best indepth rants i read in a while.
Good stuff here.
You know the game really well from a physiological technical ideal as far as a striker.

I can tell from out past convo's you were as advertised.

Simple mechanical stuff here you discuss is pro rant level.

You would make a good analyst.

Agreed

Some 6 4 6 4 matches are more of a blowout than 6 2 6 2 matches

That's tennis

That six four set loss.
you can loss in a break at five four.
Is more damaging than anything in any sport.
At that level because of how it can occur.

shyt is tough to walk back.

Embarrassed I put money on Sinner +1600 to win it all weeks ago. Felt good it was down to +900 before this game... Just a soft ass draw got him far. Battled a real serve and completely falls apart. Alcaraz at least gave Berrettini a war who's a live dog against Rafa IMO. Alcaraz will be far better going forward.

He looked unbeatable tonight

Agreed but Sinner played like it was a rallying session. That was an embarrassing effort.

Tsi played as well as he could have and capitalized on what was given to him so he should be proud of himself. He had some really stellar forehands.

With that said Sinner didnt challenge him at all so this doesnt make me think Tsi has any greater chance to win the tournament. On the one service game it got pushed to deuce, tsi got tight and almost pushed that backhand volley long. I even think he expected it to continue to float. That was really the only slight pressure situation in the match.
