Recorded the match and just finished watching. About what I expected from Kyrgios. That was a workman performance from Novak; nothing special but just stayed even keeled and waited Kyrgios out.
You can see the decline in his game but the tour is so cheeks right now it doesn't matter. I hope he passes Nadal.

That's all of 10 matches, half with Nadal hurt or slumping, and somehow Nadal has still won 12 Grand Slams since 2013 including hardcourt Slams in 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
You sound very proud that it only took 9 years and multiple injuries for Djokovic to finally surpass Nadal on some surfaces. Are you telling me that the younger, far later-peaking player eventually became better on his best surfaces than the older, earlier-peaking player is on his lesser surfaces? What a surprise!

And despite the injuries and that long streak they're still virtually even in career head-to-head, match record, and Grand Slams. You'd think after all this late career stat-padding that Djoker would have built a lead by now. Sad.

I mean, think of the process by which you would become a Djokovic stan as opposed to a Federer or Nadal stan and you have your explanation for why they this way.
To be honest I appreciate all 3. Fed was the first and I never thought anyone would surpass his tally but for Nadal and then Novak to get to 20+ is insane when you think he only had 1 Major when Fed had 16 and has since caught up. All 3 are arguably the greatest tennis players (I would personally put Bjorg in there to). It will be a lifetime debate talking about them and I can't be mad at anyone's preference to them. Like the Montana - Brady debate.
