Also Jim Flaherty’s to blame. When he was part of Harper’s cabinet as finance minister

Remember . He took away 30 40 year amortization… he’s was on record saying that home ownership wasn’t for all in Canada smh

@Nomad1

Housing was still affordable in 2015. I remember going to look at condos with my ex fiance at the time and a one bdrm brand new condo for rent right across yorkdale mall was 1,300 and we thought it was to expensive. I remember going to buy a brand new condo and it was 250,000 pre construction and I was like nah not worth it.

I get that
It was cheaper in 2015 if you compare it to 2025

But the damage was done

Yeah late 2017 I started looking at apartments and being annoyed at seeing $1400 rent ($800-1000 for basements)

I think I still have my excel sheet I made and the amount of interviewswas WILD. Now I’d be lucky to even get an automated message

Yup see what I mean? I remember those days we were literally begging for employees. People were quitting their jobs left right and center for better jobs.

But then when the borders opened back up and Sukhbir and Manpreet were back by the hundred of thousands it evaporated just like that

And then you still have these idiots talking about labour shortages

Housing will never be fixed
Cause no way you can curb greed
Nope, will always stay the status quo. It’s the only stable investment in a country where most people are risk-adverse or less likely to start a business

This is what happens when a country doesn’t populate, innovate and only subsidizes itself by the U.S.

This country is only meant for people in STEM or industrial trades
