I make decent salary, but after taxes, car insurance, and company pension its nothing really home to write about .

Last year being a contractor no benefits making "less" no benefits or pension I was taking home 700 more a paycheck

I'm not sure if I'm reading your post right but does your fam currently own all three properties? Or did they sell the condo for the Thornhill house and then trade that one for the Woodbridge one? They always say real estate is a great investment. & the funny thing is that salaries haven't really risen all that much to accomodate any of that rampant inflation.

Are there a lot of tech jobs in the Chi? You work from home right? What kinda industry you in? While I got love for Toronto it definitely looks like I'm not going to settle down here.

To the other Canuck nikkas here - how is it in Montreal? Montreal real estate doesn't seem to be in as much of a crisis as Vancouver and Toronto. Give us a ground report brehs.

I work in healthcare, but my company is based in Arizona. And I haven't been to our office since March 2015. I technically work for a software company, but all of our clients are various hospital systems throughout the united states.

when it comes to tech jobs, a city the size of chicago will have plenty of them as well. google just built a new complex here recently, and a lot of companies are relocating to downtown chicago lately to draw from the younger candidate pool who refuse to work in the suburbs.

Finish school with like 20k plus in osap, compete with 150 others for a 12 dollar a hour job, get a good job and need to save 100,000 for a 20% down payment on a town house built in 1984, be stuck with a 400k mortgage and pray interest rates don't rise,

I know the Port Credit cribs are expensive, but those ones I understand. They are really nice and it is beachside property. That part of Sauga is actually nicer than I always thought - always figured Sauga was a dump for some reason.

I work with people who are in their 50s and they own their houses with the same salary I'm making but they got in when the market allowed you to cop a house
