i know it sucks, ass. Hopefully our generation starts to bring some change. I know enough black women working or studying to become RNs and other medical professionals, i hope they can take over and run management someday. politically, zero none, I don't know any black people involved. I do hear of some somalis trying to get involved. I think we had a somali guy running here in Ottawa with the Conservative Party a elections back.

I work in healthcare for one of the biggest health networks in canada, I'd have to say out of like 300 leaders (ceos/vps/senior directors/directors/managers/supervisors/charges) that there are around 7 blacks

due to this george floyd etc. stuff they finally changed hr policies and the diversity/inclusion when hiring etc. so we shall see.

In the federal government there is only emmanuel dubourg, matthew green and ahmed hussen that are black a total of 3

the black population is 3.5% and we have 3 :dahell:

the south asian population is 4.5% and they have 20

I understand pre covid being close to work etc. but that's the only positive I can think

The money you have to pay for rent is disgusting. 2 grand a month to live in a tiny condo :picard: I hate driving downtown one way streets, can't turn here between certain times, stupid bikes that think they own the road, slow streetcars, cars parked taking up one lane, houses that don't have a garage, a lot of crazy mental people, homelessness.
that smell on spadina....the dreary looking days in the dt core....fuuuuuck that.

Only 24000 tests completed too. We're testing as much as BC now, and the infection rate is so much higher. Yikes

@TradePascalSiakam Anything at your hospital about them opening back the testing to everyone now that the backlog is almost cleared?

nope looks like the appointment is the way forward, all i could see them doing is increasing the appointment capacities.

As well my hospital currently has a covid outbreak, and testing all staff is what we are currently working on

"The Crown also needed to prove that a punch in the face caused a heart attack, and that it wasn't the 200 metre sprint from Bridgehead to 55 Hilda that triggered the heart attack."

Why does Toronto not have a signature food item ? NY has pizza Philly has cheesesteaks LA has tacos, even Montreal has smoked meat...We got nothing, its always bothered me...

When you go to Montreal theres dozens of restaurants downtown that sell poutine, steamed hot dogs or sell smoked meat sammiches and they have there defacto go to joint Schwarz's.

When i went to Philly they have cheesesteak joints all over the city and they have there defacto go to take out stands (Pats/Jims)....we got nothing.

We have never had a go to local food item.

Is ours Chicken Biryani ?? :stopitslime:
