There are these really nice, new condos on the west side of Toronto. Yorkdale to be specific that I go by when I'm in that area. So gorg! You can get a 1 bedroom apartment with that budget.

Idk, but the big billboard on the side of the condo says 250,000. But, if you rent a 1 bedroom apartment I'm sure it'd be around his 1k budget or 2k.

Since you just wanna stay a year and enjoy what the city has to offer, i'd definitely recommend being at a nice location rather than all the way in the boonies. Toronto has decent public transportation but it is still pretty spread out compared to well, NY, so you will start cursing yourself eventually if you decide to live far from downtown.
