I think the last time I heard about something happening in Malvern was a few months back, when an 80 year old man went missing in the middle of the day

I dunno if it's really been gentrified like that, I don't think people have been pushed out. A bunch of new houses were built in the area years ago...like in 2009 or 2010? There's a lot more brown people in the area though, that's for sure.

If Scarborough still had that rep, we could probably afford to buy a home though. I read in Toronto Life that this young couple bought a house near Woodside for 950k. I drove that same house the other day on the way to my dad's...it looks like any fukking 2 garage house in the area

TORONTO - Toronto Police have released the name of the man who was gunned down in Malvern on Sunday hours after a double-shooting at a backyard barbecue.
Demal Graham, 25, of Toronto, was found dead on Empringham Drive, in the McLevin and Morningside Aves. area, around 6:45 p.m. after police responded to calls about gunshots.
Police said a man described as brown, mid-20s, with some facial hair, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, was seen speeding away on McLevin Ave. in a light-coloured four-door sedan.
The shooting came hours after Dwayne Campbell, 33, and Rinaldo Cole, 30, were shot dead and a woman was seriously wounded around 1 a.m. at a birthday barbecue a few streets over at 83 Gennela Square.
It was not known if the incidents are related, but police said they were probing the possibility of a connection.
No arrests have been made in either of the deadly shootings.
A GoFundMe page set up for Graham describes him as "a devoted father, son and brother and an active member of the Malvern Community, who never missed an opportunity to run a joke with a neighbour or help a friend.
"He was a strong writer and producer and believed music was a source of healing. He recently received a grant and was in the process of developing a musical after-school program for youth."
The page says he was shot in the driveway of his childhood home as his daughter played outside.
it's possible...the only reason I'm inclined to think otherwise is because of how they got him....standing over someone & basically emptying a clip spells out personal hatred to me..
