Breh I almost got married to a pawg in Bruce county 3 hrs from Toronto crib paid for and a job working with FAM clearing 100k in the oil business and I bailed. I'm not built for that small town life. Y'all can call it ducktales but this was a 4 year relationship deaded on the basis I can't live in some backwoods ass town where cacs stare at me everywhere I go.

If y'all bout that life go for it. Personally my comfort level was not all the way there and let's not get started on up north winters. I'd rather struggle in the city for now at least I enjoy living here.

you dodged a bullet. i'd rather be partially broke and live in toronto than live where i'm at now. i need to be surrounded with a modicum of minorities / black folks to feel comfortable. also a sizeable social net.

newmarket ontario. an hour north of downtown.

i've gone to scarborough a couple of times and i found it balla as fukk. it's literally certain blocks where all you see is afros, nappy hair and dark skin. shyt is amazing. you must've lived there back when it was more white.

although i will say that newmarket is much more diverse now than it was say ten years ago. a lot more black folks and south asians here now. this is mostly in the new part of the newmarket. the old part of newmarket is still very white.

true. :manny:

only if you're into white broads though. i've lived and fukked with these broads for so long that they're literally nothing special to me. black girls are now more 'exotic' to me. they are nowhere to be found though. i'm surprised that you're familiar with upper canada mall. do you usually come up north to newmarket, east/west gwillimbury to shop? i mean why the hell would anyone possibly want to come up here?

I know :to:

I haven't fully severed ties but I'm positive small town life would be suicidal for me. I spent a good amount of time out there last year trying to make a decision.

Real Christmas then. Not this rainstorm nonsense. No jobs, true, but transfers..

if you can.
or if you can work from home

thats the thing about canada, if your not in a big city finding a job is hard in many non oil rich provinces.

like 4 years ago i was in halifax in early december, i was right by the ocean i've never been that cold in my life.

As a single person i've given up the dream of home ownership in toronto

even bum ass scarborough where i lived as a kid old ass 40 year old bungalows are now 700k :wow:. Parents bought thier first home for 149k

I've been hearing for years about the market tanking every year it goes up and up

soon its going to be like vancouver, every house worth a mill, every condo like 500k and up

at least rent is still cheap for now :sadcam:

It's really difficult. If you're not pulling big dollars, you might as well forget it. Sh1t, even if you're pulling big money, you have to at least have 5% down, then lawyer fees, then double land transfer tax (if you're not 1st time home buyer)...which can be like $10K+. So at the low end you need at least have $35K+ for a $400K crib...minimal debt and great credit. That is...if you go through the bank. If you go through a broker, damn near anyone can get a mortgage.

My point is, home ownership is starting become out of reach for a lot of people. The rates aren't going up so the prices keep going up. The rates will go up eventually and a lot a folk will be :damn:. So if the bank is approving you at $600K, you better look for something at $400-450K and you better put some money aside and have a back up plan in case you lose your job.
