I agree with you but I think at least in my experience which is why I don't do committed relationships anymore usually one of the people in the relationship will begin taking the other for granted.
Control. But control never last long. You'll find yourself dealing with numerous people try to control something thats uncontrollable.

i mean... you typed about 2-3 concepts in one sentence so i may be confused for sure. but you mention not wanting to be taken advantage of as a reason why you may try to control a relationship by stifling your feelings. i would just rather not be there than do all that
Control freaks usually have insecurity issues. And they'll usually void of social skills because if they can't control the situation, they usually have a attitude. The worse amongst people breathing.
