If you want the 6700k (or higher), yeah. Plus you gotta buy new ram too.

If you get the 4790K, I believe you can keep your mobo and ram though...
I'm looking for a bump in performance in applications like Sony Vegas, Elgato Game Capture, Photoshop etc... would it be worth it coming from the 3750k? I need to upgrade my GPU as well, as it's showing it's age.

Yeah, it's worth it. If you go the 2 generations old route, you'll save money with the 4790k.

However....that mobo and cpu is pretty outdated. I'd save up and get the 6700k and new ram. You'll be future proof for a few years that way, instead of living in the past.

Truth be told though, if you're not a pc gamer, the 4790k is probably the way to go. (The 4790k and 6700k are pretty similar in speed). You'll save money and not have to buy a new mobo and ram :manny:

I like having the option to game on PC, but I don't really go hard with PC games. Only game I play is Siege on PS4 with the brehs, yeah I know it's on PC, but the brehs aren't. Really more interested in improving my setup for media creation type of stuff, not primarily gaming.

get the 4790K then. It'll last you a while (CPUs haven't really improved in a while). You'll get 8 logical cores and above 4.0ghz. Plus no new mobo and ram.

I believe you're mostly a ps4 gamer, so, it won't really affect you that it is 2 generations old.

But...if you wanna be future proof, get a new mobo, a 6700k, and new ram. It's up to you :manny:
