AMD shutting down the buildings very soon
I've read that going to the i7-3770k isn't worth it coming from the i5-3570k.you could try to find a 3770k
newer CPU's really aren't that much better
Intel Core i7 6700K vs 3770K
the 4790k will require a new mobo. I was just trying to make a suggestion to avoid thatI've read that going to the i7-3770k isn't worth it coming from the i5-3570k.
I would more than likely get the 4790k which compares higher than the 2 processors that you linked there.
Steam Controller
- Added XBox 360, Xbox One, and Generic X-Input controller configurator support. This allows all recognized controller types to use the advanced mapping features of the Steam Controller Configurator. Note that because X-Input currently lacks per-controller means of unique identification, all controllers of that type will share personalization and configuration settings. As they share the same inputs, Xbox 360/One/Generic controllers will all see each-others configurations when browsing. Automatic conversion will be attempted when loading configurations from other controller types.
Yeah, it's worth it. If you go the 2 generations old route, you'll save money with the 4790k.
However....that mobo and cpu is pretty outdated. I'd save up and get the 6700k and new ram. You'll be future proof for a few years that way, instead of living in the past.
Truth be told though, if you're not a pc gamer, the 4790k is probably the way to go. (The 4790k and 6700k are pretty similar in speed). You'll save money and not have to buy a new mobo and ram![]()
To be more future proof. The 4790k mobo is obsolete now. If you wanna upgrade in the future you can'tI have the same processor as he does and I probably will upgrade soon as I want a 1070/80 and new monitor. If those 2 are similar in speed why get the 6700?

I thought Kaby Lake was a microprocessor, not a desktop one. Could be wrong. I haven't really kept up.Micro Center - Computers and Electronics
Would you recommend this processor? Micro center has 6700k on sale for 299 I'll prolly just pick it up with a mobo this weekend.
I'll pick up the GPU in March after work isn't crazy.
Edit: Is there a reason to buy this vs waiting for Kaby Lake in a few weeks?
