the new one ? its a good game and its not an easy one (which is always good in my book nowadays), but if youre a big fan of hitman games like I am, you cant help but think of what couldve been instead

I want to play god damn DayZ. The girlfriend and I had a Walking Dead marathon from when we stopped watching (the first part of season 2) up to the latest episode, and now I want to do some zombie survival shyt.
Standalone might come out in the summer, and the Arma 2 Complete Collection isn't on sale, but the Combined Operations is. Should I get Combined Operations, wait for the Complete Collection to go on sale, or should I just wait for Standalone? The last option may not be doable for me.

I started it up for the first time last night and had a zombie chase me for about 15 minutes. I find some road and follow it and finally make it to some town which is heavily infested. By then I just let them get me,

idk anymore. people were asking me this back in november, and I was like "just wait for the standalone. it should be out next month..."
now they're saying nothing before june. hopefully all this waiting is for the best
DayZ at the moment is all over the place. it's hard to find a server that's actually running 'vanilla' DayZ. they're all different maps, mods of the mod, custom loadouts, 1000 vehicles, private hives, etc. really a lot of these people are gonna be in for a surprise when rocket releases his hardcore survival game, and they realize they wanna play 'wasteland' (another Arma mod) with zombies
just know that if you get into the mod now, you're coming into a convoluted situation, that's honestly mostly "kill on sight, pvp shyt", and little "zombie survival shyt". personally I really don't even wanna look at the Arma 2 engine after playing Arma 3. but I think they're planning an update for the mod soon, and I'll probably check that out

you gotta learn the tricks to losing them. the learning curve is definitely steep. especially if you never played Arma

Def looks like its all over the place. Looks like people are running a more up to date version than the one that's offered on Steam so it took me 5 to 10 min to find a server I could actually join. I may have also picked wrong game type. They started me by some body of water with no weapons,

its kinda funny to me that most console only gamers don't wanna spend the cash for a decent graphics card but overpay for games. here i sit playing Bioshock Infinite off a code i got on eBay effectively paying $21.50 for it and having a GTX 670 that maybe cost like $350 i'm able to run it at the best settings. meanwhile they have to pay $60 for an inferior version of the same game.
i guess i don't get Xbox achievements but whatever...

i caved and bought the complete collection. installing the dayz mods now.
lemme know if you need help. I suggest using "DayZ Commander"
also, at least do the first 'bootcamp' mission in Arma
