Yes, the stuttering was annoying but I completed the game despite it's frequent annoyance. 1999 mode is piff though, it makes the game much more tense.

I was getting bad hitching. I didn't mind it at first, but then it happened in combat :whoa:

the only fix that worked, broke other parts of the game. I had kinda given up/forgot about waiting for a patch

:what: What settings and what game are you talking about?? I say so because my 7870 supposedly is slower than a 670 yet I can run some games maxed the fukk out at 1440P 60fps.

For example, I cut Fraps on and put Bioshock Infinite on and with everything on Ultra except I think ambient occlusion I got a solid 57-60+fps with some dips to 45-55 in large battles at 1440P. I think some of you guys just throw the game on a setting and roll with it. I always check out Neogafs PC performance thread for a specific game when it comes out since they usually find some tweaks here and there to boost the game performance. Speaking of Infinite, a new patch dropped for it on Steam that finally resolved the stuttering, hitching it was doing randomly.
Turn Tomb Raider up to max settings and you may very well dip lower than 30fps with a 670. turn off the hair and cut the fov down a notch and you can maintain 50-60fps throughout.

a 670 can't fully max out the most demanding games at 1080p with out at least some type of compromise.

That's a Tress Fx game issue...I think they put out patches for Nvidia cards...people with 680's was even having framerate issues...

 That's weird. Maybe TressfX works better on AMD cards? :yeshrug:

Anyway I just tested the game out maxed out, 1080P with TressFX on with Sweetfx applied.

This is what I got.

with settings maxed out.

Now if I were to take off sweetfx, that'd put me over 50fps and plus Ultra shadows takes a toll on performance also.

Bumping this up to 1440P with a few settings tweaked.

In the previous setting picture, high precision should have been on but I took it off by accident. I'd cut off Depth of Field and bump LOD to Normal and I'd be well above 35 fps at 1440P.

Son..some of that shyt doesn't even make the game look better..like ultra shadows doesn't look better than normal imo if u keep the shadow detail maxed...ultra shadows just makes them look softer I guess tryna make the shadows look more "realistic" when in reality the normal settings makes the shadows look more crisp and pretty to look at imo...u can get a higher fps by lowering shyt that hinders performance but doesn't make the game look better...TressFX is trash...it's NOT worth the fps loss AT ALL imo...and its even worse for Nvidia cards...for some "wavy hair" that looks weird as shyt and like its floating off her body...pure gimmick...u can lower Depth of Field also since all I really does is blur things in far distance...shyt..I turn Depth of Field all the way off in every game I play...the fukk would I want shyt blurred in distance for?..lol...I like my games to be pretty as possible and for some reason apparently PC has been obsessed with this blur shyt lately...again..so that's a definite feature I would trade for fps any day of the week...

yup i don't play with depth of field on, i turn that off in every game. ultra shadows same, keep em on high. i just had them on for testing. i rather play 60fps locked.

Depth of Field is a cool effect in some games. that dx11 DoF is very performance heavy though

I don't know fam...I just prefer it off..I don't like it...I think Bioshock Infinite kinda use it pretty well cause of the art and look of the game...speaking of art..does anyone have an Alice Madness Returns code that they don't use?...I wanna try that shyt on PC...

I'm kinda dissapointed with how the TITAN is failing against the AMD 7990

Hell even the 7970 in Crossfire is still a monster. NVIDIA is not starting this next generation off well...after losing this past gen already :snoop:
