by next gen i mean the upcoming gen and not the current gen

for some reason I know there are alot of people who still refer our current gen of consoles next gen (why? I have no clue)

just making sure I'm clear

'next gen' consoles will be built on tech that's already available for pc's (as far as I know. they could have some tricks up their sleeve)

that's what I was saying in the other thread about them not being able to do "magic". given the price-point they're going after, chances are whatever they release won't out perform a gtx 670/660ti. they can and will cut corners, but at the same time I'm sure microsoft doesn't want hardware disasters like last gen. I'm claimin "next gen" consoles will at best give you the performance of a $600-800 pc (built today)

no one ever thinks I'm serious. No matter what the topic of discussion is.

People always want to future proof and be on the bleeding edge, which is cool if PC gaming is your hobby and you have the money. For casuals it's hard to future proof your system because better hardware drops every year and now you want that.

I have two computers, one with a GTX460 that's two years old and my main computer which is a year old with a GTX570. Both of these cards were respectable in their heyday but so much new shyt has dropped that people are looking at their 570 like :scusthov:

I plan to replace this card in a couple of months. Since I seem to be on a yearly replacement cycle I don't really want a $500 card. A midrange card will do very well on MOST games. Also that money saved can be applied to added memory, power supply, monitor upgrade, etc etc.

I'm far from an expert but that's my take on things.

i've never had a cutting edge card.
i have always had a card that is a generation behind and i'm cool with that.
i can't justify dropping the kind of cash it takes to have the newest card.

hey, I just recently upgraded from a gtx 260

that card's a good example: it'll run circles around an xbox/ps3. can actually play a lot of games 'maxed out'. but overall just feelin :flabbynsick: as I have to turn more and more stuff down on newer games. I probably would have been on suicide watch when dx11 exclusive crysis 3 dropped :to:

that's how I am though. I have a hard time replacing something, when "it ain't broke". I can only imagine how it is for peeps still holding out with their 7-8000 nvidia cards and shyt (actually I read gaming forums, so I don't have to imagine...)
