If you're not with a squad just follow people, or hop on fully loaded drop ships. Lone wolfing it in that game is a dead end.

Yo I almost choked on my food. LOL that gif was random as hell!!
as far as fps's, you'll realize how much you rely on auto-aim. but you can aim much quicker. ultimately it makes the game more skill based, since there's no crutch if you can't aim
but there are other game types where a controller will give you an advantage. I would imagine most people that play SF on the pc do use a controller
Aiming with the mouse seems like it would be cheating tho, its impossible to not be able to put that dot whereever u want it
Plus I ain't got time to be pressing keys on a keyboard, rather just plug up my PS3 controller
if anything, auto-aim is "cheating"
the good thing is we're in an era where it is easy to just plug in a controller
...and get owned by players using mouse and keyboard 
I got the original planetside first day ot came out..game died quick. All my friends who played the 2nd one stopped playing that already as well.
