When I first booted up into the bios my cpu temp was around 42c - 45c. Is that normal? i just installed the hyper 212 evo cooler over it with a fresh application of arctic silver 5 thermal paste. My room can get pretty hot since it's on the third floor of the house and shyt. I usually have the AC running while I'm using the comp though so my room isn't cooking while the pc is under heavy load.

It's normal. On that board when your in bios your at running at full voltage. The voltage should scale down when in Windows if you set vcore with adaptive mode. Also, be careful of running Prime on Haswell chips, shyt will go up to 100c easily due to the AVX2 instruction set. You can run it if you set the test to 1344K though which is what most people use.

Download DDU, boot into safemode, use it to do a clean wipe of the drivers, then reinstall them.

It appears to have worked (at least for the time being). Thanks

And cc cleaner fixed onedrive somehow :yeshrug:

:blessed:

Edit: Mighta spoke too soon. The issue just creeped back up :to: (though it's not taking as much CPU as before...)

my man...i got mad love for you and your rig, but you may have to just bite the bullet and start from scratch.
backup all you media and do a fresh win7 install.

win8 was a beta run for whatever is coming after it.
you are running a rig that is 2 gens past what win8 want's to be.

you need to slow your row.

if you want to be in the .000000001% and have 120fps all the time...then your life will be hell.

take it down a notch breh.

no hate, much love.
pc master race.

@2gunsup
These are my settings.

The Vcore is at 1.32 not 1.3 in the picture, I changed it after. I tried 4.5 @ 1.35 and I kept getting Whea_uncorrectable error BSOD.

Try these, http://imgur.com/a/xGGpb then just play with vcore, also if you haven't done so already make sure that your ram is 100% stable before doing any overclocking.

I just ran P95 overnight for like 8 hours and no crashes. Highest temps seemed to be like 74c @ 1.3v @ 4.3ghz.

Seems high for 4.3 but no chip is created equal. Currently stressing 4.5 @ 1.25v, was stable at 1.265 but I haven't done any prolong stress test yet.

edit: Just crashed at 4.5 @ 1.25v

Brehs gotta let me know how that Pentium bundle handles BF4, hi-res Skyrim and Borderlands 2. Been considering that deal my damn self just to see what's good on the other side..
