So my fellow PC minions, i have a $800-$1,000 budget and want to build an INTEL gaming rig. looking for at least 1TB HDD and a graphics card that can play any game out with no problems on high settings. Can i do it? if so,got any ideas prices for parts?

Check the parts to see what they cost at Microcenter if you have one near you and take advantage of the 2 year warranty on the GPU, CPU, MOBO and hard drive. You can essentially "reuse" that money again in a year or two on better parts without coming out of pocket. Hell you may even reap a profit.

I tried it a few months ago. It was decent but I found the Splashtop THD program to work better. Splashtop was able to stream the games at 60fps locally with little latency over a Wireless N Dual Band Router on the 5GHZ frequency.

With a Nvidia card?

is it worth it to get the warranty? Do parts usually tend to crap out fast or is it just a security blanket?
You never know. I've had dumb ass accidents that caused a perfectly working part to go bad. My last video card was dead after plugging in a usb stick that fell inside the case and shorted it out. Best thing is to upgrade pretty much yearly. You can get a better part of whatever you have now a year later and it'll most likely be cheaper. I returned my 7870 I had bought last April for $231 a month ago to get a 7970 for $180.

:youngsabo: It's so smooth over there they don't even question me. I'm like "it's perfectly fine sir. :smugdraper:" when they ask me what's wrong with it.

GoatCenter.

I'm slow for not being up on this cause i've bought other things from micro and had warranty, once they look you up in the system they just say yeah get whatever you want and i'll ring you up. I lost for not throwing the warranties on the things I bought smh

I've "upgraded" my PC several times with warranties. What's even better is usually I find even better deals within 30 days of purchasing items so I just return them and switch warranties to the newer item.

If you lived near a Microcenter with laidback employees you'd be copping warranties on everything. Convenience.
I don't live near Microcenter though. and neither does the person asking about building a PC. I get the feeling it's not so 'convenient' dealing with Newegg's warranty service, and it's probably not worth the extra money
