yeah ui scaling sucks.

what i really want is a 4k gsync tv.
There's only one TV I know of with a Displayport on it. It's the newer Panasonic 4K and it's not the latest Displayport either.

I remember back in the day when graphics cards came with multiple HDMIs on them. my GTX 980 G1 only has 1 now. I had to use a DVI to HDMI cable to get another port.

Microcenter had an open box 980 Ti G1 for like $600. Already got my 980 G1 on Craigslist.

Can someone give me a good desktop PC(preferably pre-built) that's good for simple web browsing, email, document writing and online video streaming??

Anything on craigslist for about $75 will do that job.

Get @2gunsup if you need Windows.

wonder how long before having a full ssd system is economically feasible :patrice:

should i cop 500 gb evo alone and just rough it out until i can get another :patrice:

ngl no mechanical drives do sound :blessed:

if not, dont know whether i should go 256 or 500 ssd along with a 2tb hdd. both seem like ample room for os + key apps but is that $70 difference worth having the room to store and extra 4-8 games id like to load a bit faster :patrice:

in other ponderings... to watercool or not to watercool:sadcam:

besides faster loading times, a lot of open world games will benefit from a SSD because they have to constantly stream data off the drive. on a mechanical HDD you might get hitching or stuttering

I generally try to install most newer games on the SSD. older games, and simple platform type games go on the HDD. there also isn't any benefit in having music, movies, pictures, and other data on a SSD

you can try to go straight SSD, but I imagine at some point you'll want some cheaper space to store bullshyt

you're right.
some game downloads nowadays be <50GB and its only gonna get worst:mjcry:

the upcoming titles im most lookin forward to will benefit from being stored via ssd (fallout, mgs, star citizen etc.) and are gonna eat memory like a bytch :mjcry:

how large is your boot drive? if you were buying today would you get 256 or 500?

I have two SSD's: a 128 and a 256. if I was buying today I'd probably go for a 500, since I'm constantly pressed for space

I got the 128 first, because I thought the only real benefit was having the OS on it. but when I saw how much it helped some games, I copped the 256 (part of the reason also was I had this faulty SATA cable that made me think my HDD was failing)

and yeah, like you said, a lot of these games take up a lot of space. the other day I was trying to free up some space, going through my Steam library and looking how much space each game uses. fukking GTA 5 is at 63GB. Wolfenstein The Old Blood, a short stand-alone expansion, uses around 40GB. shyts crazy, and these games will eat up your SSD quick

SSD prices are getting somewhat affordable. I think newegg has a pretty fast sata III 1TB SSD for $350

Sad thing is that people like us want more speed and won't be satisfied with that because of how damn fast those M.2 drives are :mjcry:

Put my GTX 980 G1 on eBay for $420 or best offer thinking nobody would pay that for it and last night somebody bought it. No idea why because they sell brand new for $489 after rebate.
