The rants with the SLI issues that are bound to pop up will be legendary :banderas:
I don't know how people do SLI. You pay double the money and developers treat you like crap because you're a small minority of PC gamers.

New SLI bridge this gen too :wow:

*will complain incessantly about it not being supported or being fukked up*

Well somebody on Gaf did some, somewhat weird, math and predicted that the 1080 is only 20% faster than the Titan X. :patrice:

If that's true, then no buy. I'll wait for the ti or Titan version

I wouldn't call it weird nerd math as much as he picked apart the fact that Nvidia removed all the actual numbers from their charts and used selective measurements to say it's way faster than it might be in real world performance. It's like when cell phone providers turn off the screen and play a track on repeat till the battery dies then say that's the battery life.

just wait for real benchmarks
Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. Somebody said reviews come out the 15th, but that's just a rumor. We'll see. The no numbers graph nvidia showed is real suspect though, like winb said :patrice:

it shouldn't be a surprise that a company tries to exaggerate how great their new product is. wait until you see what the Xbox can do with the power of the cloud :troll:

is that Doom video at 140-180 FPs on ultra settings on 1 1080 not real benchmarks :ohhh:
it's not very useful unless we can see what kind of performance other cards get in that game using the Vulkan API

when I tried Vulkan in The Talos Principle my performance was actually worse than dx11, but maybe they've got it working more efficiently in Doom

I think they got Doom running at 60fps on the consoles, so it's not that impressive that they've achieved ~3x the performance with a powerful PC. and again, a lot of that may come from Vulkan eliminating bottlenecks that could hold back performance otherwise

the benchmarks for the Doom beta were capped at 60fps (and running on dx11), so you really can't compare them with to these results with an unlocked framerate

60 fps on low/medium settings on console:hula:180 fps on ultra on pc

Seems comparable :troll:

So SLI actually results in lower FPS. :wtf:

I don't even know why I have two cards anymore. It's not supported in VR, it doesn't work with 75% of games, and when it does it lowers performance :mindblown:

Maybe I'll just get 1 card with this next generation of cards. SLI is a joke now. I dunno what happened, but this past year has been TERRIBLE for SLI :smh:

yeah, kind of like comparing the performance of unknown hardware, unknown settings, and a different API. that's why I said to wait for real benchmarks
