I don't know how people do SLI. You pay double the money and developers treat you like crap because you're a small minority of PC gamers. The rants with the SLI issues that are bound to pop up will be legendary![]()

I wouldn't call it weird nerd math as much as he picked apart the fact that Nvidia removed all the actual numbers from their charts and used selective measurements to say it's way faster than it might be in real world performance. It's like when cell phone providers turn off the screen and play a track on repeat till the battery dies then say that's the battery life.Well somebody on Gaf did some, somewhat weird, math and predicted that the 1080 is only 20% faster than the Titan X.
If that's true, then no buy. I'll wait for the ti or Titan version
Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. Somebody said reviews come out the 15th, but that's just a rumor. We'll see. The no numbers graph nvidia showed is real suspect though, like winb saidjust wait for real benchmarks

it shouldn't be a surprise that a company tries to exaggerate how great their new product is. wait until you see what the Xbox can do with the power of the cloudYeah, that's what I'm gonna do. just wait for real benchmarks

is that Doom video at 140-180 FPs on ultra settings on 1 1080 not real benchmarks![]()
yeah, but i heard a rumor that it was running on a PC.

it's not very useful unless we can see what kind of performance other cards get in that game using the Vulkan APIis that Doom video at 140-180 FPs on ultra settings on 1 1080 not real benchmarks![]()
60 fps on low/medium settings on consoleit's not very useful unless we can see what kind of performance other cards get in that game using the Vulkan API
when I tried Vulkan in The Talos Principle my performance was actually worse than dx11, but maybe they've got it working more efficiently in Doom
I think they got Doom running at 60fps on the consoles, so it's not that impressive that they've achieved ~3x the performance with a powerful PC. and again, a lot of that may come from Vulkan eliminating bottlenecks that could hold back performance otherwise
the benchmarks for the Doom beta were capped at 60fps (and running on dx11), so you really can't compare them with to these results with an unlocked framerate

180 fps on ultra on pc
So SLI actually results in lower FPS.it's not very useful unless we can see what kind of performance other cards get in that game using the Vulkan API

yeah, kind of like comparing the performance of unknown hardware, unknown settings, and a different API. that's why I said to wait for real benchmarks
60 fps on low/medium settings on console180 fps on ultra on pc
Seems comparable![]()
