I agree, but that doesn't mean it would be a wise choice to buy one now. is that the advice you would give? buy a gtx 580 for retail in 2013? is that what you did? or did you buy a 670?
I bought a 670![]()
and did you get that to replace a crossfire setup with 2 year old cards?
my 560ti about 2yrs old and i'm pretty happy with it.
i'll probably replace it next year though.
my point is I tell people not to try to 'future proof', and I'm told that's "bad advice" by someone that does probably replace their card every 1-2 generations
I don't care about how people spend their money. I just don't want people to think the money is gonna 'future proof' them for 3+ years
in the mean time, people see talk about a "$400 graphics card", have this knee jerk reaction (probably because they own a "$400 graphics card"), and come at me sideways (gtx 680 is a $500 graphics card btw. I'm not sure why Tom keeps saying "$400". I don't see it anywhere for cheaper than around $450)
and did you get that to replace a crossfire setup with 2 year old cards?
I'm just lookin for summin thats gonna last me a while and be on par with next gen consoles bro
of course PCs are always gonna be ahead of consoles in terms of visuals so by time the next gen drops PCs will be on some other sh1t
All I care about getting is something that will be able to hang with next gen consoles, not PCS.
I don't plan on spending another 400+ for a card til about 6,7 years (which is the average lifespan of console gens) from now or more
being on par with next gen consoles can be done easily without a top of the line card.
now, this 6-7 years shyt you are talking isstatus.
even if you go a $600 card today it's gonna be :shyt: in 5 years....but that's still better than next gen consoles.![]()
Yea but only because crossfire wouldnt recognize one of the cards, it became frustrating and i didnt wanna deal with it so i just bought 1 good card instead.
Still got both 6870s for sale![]()
what was the issue? something with your mobo?
