nevermind there was a wire from my PSU falling down into the GTX680's fan which prevented it from spinning, I guess the lack of fan caused it to overheart and shut the PC off

Anybody in here got a Titan? $1000 for a video card is rough all at one time but i'd imagine one might last you 7 or so years possibly. if it came down to say $700 i'd bite and sell this 670.

It won't ever make it down to $700 unless bought used. The 690 after nearly a year is still a G. For 1G you are better off purchasing a 690 unless you have plans on purchasing another Titan down the road.

You're lucky that shyt ain't burn out on you. For everyone here who has purchased cards recently, be sure to register your cards with whatever vendor they are from. It is the only way some vendors honor their warranties. Also, for those of you that have bought an EVGA 660ti or better, you can get a free copy of Primal Carnage (whatever the fukk that is) from EVGA.

Anybody else playing Tomb Raider? If I turn the hair effects off and put the depth of field to normal I can run everything else maxed out and get 60fps consistently. With the depth of field on high it goes to 30fps and with the hair on performance is usually around 30fps but at times dips lower. This is on a 670.

That shyt keeps crashing on me (I got a 670 too). They mentioned that dropping some of the graphics settings may fix the issue, but fukk that. I'll wait for them to drop a patch before I pick it up again.

I've read that people with NVIDIA cards are having issues with this game.

I guess I got lucky so far in like an hour and a half into it and no crashes.

FYI, NVIDIA response:

We are aware of major performance and stability issues with GeForce GPUs running Tomb Raider with maximum settings.

Unfortunately, NVIDIA didn’t receive final code until this past weekend which substantially decreased stability, image quality and performance over a build we were previously provided. We are working closely with Crystal Dynamics to address and resolve all game issues as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we would like to apologize to GeForce users that are not able to have a great experience playing Tomb Raider, as they have come to expect with all of their favorite PC games.

Use latest drivers 314.14 and turn off tessellation and it works.

This solution should work for everyone. Let me know if it doesn't.

Got this from the EVGA forums,

Tomb Raider Driver issues....

I get 40-60fps on Tomb Raider with some settings on Ultra and high. TressFX right now must not be properly working as it's very performance heavy right now. Things that give massive framerate boosts are depth of field, high precision, tesselation and level of detail. I have depth of field on normal, and high precision off. I can't tell what high precision does and depth of field is just blurring of distant objects and scenery. Tesselation makes everything look more realistic and smooth.

my game crashed once in 2 hours. i think the hair effects crash it because on the scripted death sequences it wouldn't even show them the screen just goes white but with the hair on normal it shows. i turned them off and its stable now. with a 670 you can run this in 1080p with everything turned up except depth of field at a consistent 55-60fps. i never turned Tessellation off either.
