So I’m at a crossroads with choosing a GPU, there’s $20 difference between the AMD($819.99) and Nvidia card ($839.99). The third card is sold by MSI at $789. I feel at that price I should side with Nvidia but I’m at the mercy of the manufacturer if something gets fukked. I like the ability of going to the store having options of a refund or replacement if either of the first two options give me problems.

I’ve read the power connector is better for these 50 series cards compared to last generation but I’m still hesitant on it. I wanted to use cable extensions but I don’t want to add another point of failure. :hubie: I haven’t made a build in over a decade so I’m out the loop on has best track record.

As an rough estimate how long ya'll think my 4080 got before I "should" upgrade.

I'm hoping I can hold out for another several years :jbhmm: worst case scenario should be some good pre builts with 50xx by then

IPC gaming is always chasing the dragon. I personally don't think it's worth it to try to play everything at 4k 100+ frames maxed out settings. Especially the settings. A lot of games it's worth checking which settings you can leave low/mid or even off.
4080 you should be good for at least two more years.

Yeah I've found RT is basically the breaking point and not really worth the hit to performance, but every thing still runs swimmingly. These ue5 games are fukking dikks though, something like Wuchang running like shyt not doing anything impressive at all while that Indiana jones game getting 120 fps

I feel you gon have to have a crazy gpu just to brute force these devs shytty handiwork soon :unimpressed:

Copped a 5070 ti, ASUS Prime

Now ima get a new CPU. Still figuring what I want to do on that end

Nice, I recently upgraded from a 1070 ti to a 5070 oc TUF. It's paired up with a Ryzen 9 9900X and 64 gigs of DDR5.

DLSS is a fukking game changer. 4x Frame generation is simply unbelievably good. I've just started playing Cyberpunk with everything on max. Without DLSS frame generation I'm getting high 20's FPS. With frame generation on 4x I'm getting 100 plus FPS and it looks amazing.

Whenever tech like this comes out I like to imagine going back in time 20 years and telling my younger self about it just to see my reaction.

I 100% agree. My 5090 with DLSS4 and frame generation has me playing Cyberpunk at 60fps at 4kx2 (2 times harder than 4k) with everything maxed, including ray and path tracing. It's unbelievable to me how good this technology is. I can play every game I throw at it at 4Kx2 all maxed at at at least 60fps (some games like Spider-man 2 p[lay at damn near 100 fps with every single thing maxed.

Nvidia knows what they are doing :blessed:
