i havent tried it yet but why is it bad for FPS?

I should have clarified that a little better. It only really sucks when playing competitive multiplayer since you're at a disadvantage against everyone else with a KB&M. Single player games like metro or coop games like borderlands is fine.

I usually play single player games on PC and multiplayer on consoles. That steam controller has me intrigued though. If they can somehow close the gap between controller and KB&M, I could probably toss consoles in the bushes.

They said it's within sniffing distance of a reference 780..the 780 is faster at stock..but the price difference between the 2 cards makes up for the extra speed of the 780...it's def faster than the 770 tho..and at that price point it's bugged out to get a card that sits between a 770 and 780..

Reviewers usually lock 780s (863-900mhz) from boosting during benchmarks so it really doesn't reflect what a stock one can do. If you're talking about the Sapphire Toxic then yeah, its def going to be faster than a stock clocked 770, and then some. For those of you planning on doing the AMD thing I recommend you stick to Sapphire cards.

On another note last night at 11 Steams countdown for Origins would unlock in 19 hours, I'm either terribly bad at math and time or they fixed the countdown, :sadcam:

That card would look so good in one of the Gigabyte OC boards, :noah:

Overall I'd have to give it to EVGA. Not that their reference cards are any better as all vendors reference shyt are the same but their customer support is grade A. They also have some of the best non-reference cards available from ACX coolers to Classified beasts.

A more realistic 290X Review from OC3D, not sure if he knows the confirmed price though.

Edit: He's about to get slayed... :pachaha:

Anybody game on big HDTVs with their PC? (like 50 to 70inches)

I don't know when I'll do it, but I'm thinking about throwing my PC that I put together downstairs in the mancave with my other consoles.

:patrice:

Just have to see if I want to just get a laptop for photo editing stuff or build another PC for the office.
i got a dual TV setup. a 55 in Sony and a 55 in LG next to each other. i game on the 55 in Sony and the LG is either a second monitor or showing my DVR. i would game in a dual monitor mode but i don't think my GTX 670 can handle it. i just put the TV on game mode and i haven't noticed any input lag.

Good build overall. Can you get the motherboard at Micro Center as well? They'll hit you with a discount for buying the mobo+cpu together. Also, any reason specific reason why you're going with Nvidia at that price range? Gsync, Shadowplay, Physx, dual cards in future, etc? If none of these interest you I'd go with a aftermarket 280x and save some cash. In addition 4GB over a 256 bit bus has proven to show no benefit so if you want the 770 I'd get a 2GB variant. It's also due a price drop.

No clue what that means man. I barely know the basics, and
I'm confident in my ability to build it, but I've just been compiling knowledge and trying to get the best for my price range. I'm welcome to cost cutting measures, I just don't want to sacrifice something when I can spend a little more and have it last longer.

I want to be able to run the games out now flawlessly on high settings as well as shyt coming out in the near future like Watch Dogs and The Witcher 3. Don't think that's asking for too much. If I can cut costs a little and make minor sacrifices, I'm open to it and I'd greatly appreciate the help. Before I purchase ANYTHING online I'm gonna take the list in and see if they'd match at microcenter or work something out with me.
Another thing. Another guy I know said I'll be sorry for not going with an i7 processor now. I mean, I've done research and I've heard that for gaming purposes the i5 is really all you need right now. I only plan on doing some gaming and homework on this computer. So...yeah.

Thoughts? Substitution advice? I'm all ears
