You can't fight against technology progressing. It's just stupid. If all the sudden you could teleport, no one would not use it because they were worried about the jobs lost in the auto industry. At that point cars would be a waste. You can't keep waste for the sake of it. Anyone waiting for horse and buggies to make a comeback?
Yes you can and we already do it. We have the nuclear technology to power the entire planet for thousands of years but governments are hesitant because of the obvious dangers of the technology is used wrong.
We shouldn’t stop progression, but we should question how that progression is going to affect society. Developing technology that will lead to millions of lost jobs is a recipe for economic and social disaster. We need the technology to progress for our benefit, not the benefit of sociopathic billionaire oligarchs.
Remember the same technocrats that want to eliminate jobs, also want to eliminate government assistance to poor people and dismantle all worker and consumer protections while investing in private prisons. So millions of out of work poor people, no government assistance, palantir monitoring all of your online activity and AI powered police robots ready to scoop you off the streets. We are in the beginning stages of a dystopian movie.
