The only popular beat em ups i remember for the 7th gen was Scott pilgrim and castle crashers. I don’t remember anything from last gen

There are plenty more, but those are a few I thought of off the top of my head.

I know of the first two, mostly, and they came out pretty late in the gen.
jitsu squad said it came out in 2022 (same for River City Girls 2)
Old arcade game, you can play it on websites or emulators.
Another underrated old beat em up, though a little short on content, is Sengoku 3

Agreed, the timing of it was bad when you have so many better options. I think they can still do it because there are other franchises that bad iterations. Unsure how valuable that IP is, but I would see if somebody like DotEmu or Arcsystem wants to work on it.
