Chances are they had no game.

We aren't meant to mate with one person our entire lifespan. I think Open relationships can work, if you make it about honoring business, she does her part,you do your part, and leave that indoctrinated romance soulmate fantasy somewhere else. You have to separate sex from business. Business is business, the household should be handled most like a business.
