Vin Diesel seems pretty laid back and chill. Never got the sense that he was too full of himself. Dwayne strikes one as a tryhard individual. Rock complaining about this fits in with that judgement. Rocky has a history of taking things way too seriously. Makes sense that Vin would rub Uncle DJ the wrong way.

One thing I do know is that Rock is still not the household name that Vin Diesel is though. He has as long way to go.
Maybe Dwayne should take some lessons from Vin on keeping it natural though, because to the casual audience Dwayne comes off like a fake, try-hard buster.

Rock is MUCH bigger than Vin Diesel in 2016. Vin Diesel puts out Furious moviies and that was it. And the only reason that $hit got cracking was when Rock got added to the franchise in 2011 after the str8 to DVD nonsense with Bow Wow and that Asian kid.

You know who also tries hard? Kevin Hart, RDJ, Will Farrell, Leo Dicaprio, Will Smith, or any high sought after top star that's grossed a lot of money in Hollywood and put out a lot of movies or etc.
You know who hasn't tried hard? Cats like Arnie Hammer and Brandon Routhe and few others..... Cats who supposed to probably be big stars now but are getting passed up by new cats that are trying hard like Chris Pratt who is coming from a fat nobody 6th billed goofy bum on a marginally popular NBC sitcom to low key Hollywoods next "It Guy" and sought after leading man
So Rock doing what he need to do early in his career while he in his prime.
Cats only need to settle down and not try as hard ONLY once they reach that level of a Denzel, Sam L, Pacino, Deniro, Ford, Hanks, etc.... And even a lot of them still put in a good amount of effort

Rock has lapped Vin Diesel in regards to being a household name. Vin's really only known for the F&F series and to a lesser extent Riddikk whereas Rock has been in a ton of movies over the past few years plus having the HBO show. However, Vin is making a lot more money on these movies than The Rock, so he can just eat off of them for however long he wants to keep doing them.
With that said, The Rock could vanish/be killed off from future F&F movies and they'll still make bank, despite what our resident Rock stan wants to believe. If you remove The Rock from Furious 7 and replace his role with another big name, it doesn't change anything about the main plot of the movie.
