Russia has more than enough troops to put even more significant pressure on Ukraine, the scale of this war has only turned up now.

The Ukrainians have only recently occupied evacuated territory in the Kharkiv region but the area around Kherson and the wider Donbas region is firmly in Russian hands. The Russians have good positions here unlike in the Kharkiv oblast where they were stretched thin.
