How exactly did Mitch win when he didn't want to pass ANY bill for relief?

Seems like people are gonna be mad no matter what the Dems did:yeshrug:

He got out of passing a 3.4 trillion dollar deal (thats needed) and ended up pushing through a (little less than) 900 billion dollar one. With only 300 billion of it being 'new money' and 580 billion being leftover money from the cares act. Also got away without breaking bread with states for government jobs. Also got out of $600 per week (for 24 weeks) unemployment insurance, and instead agreed to $300 for 11 weeks instead. Also cut stimulus checks in half, from $1200 to $600. (And he only agreed to this because he's trying to help Loeffler and Perdue in the Georgia runoff races)

And makes Nancy take a L in public opinion in that she looks like she caved in from her original demands (she did). Refusing to budge on the $600 unemployment and using as negotiating tactic for months, to only end up settling for $300 alone makes her look bad.

They all come out looking bad instead of one side getting one up on the other.

You saying he "got out off" passing a bigger bill he didn't get out of anything he just refused to even vote on it:mjlol:
But somehow you spinning this as a Mitch win

He didn't want people getting ANYTHING...no stimulus, UI, or state funding

Only thing he prevented was state funding WHILE giving up liability protection(which is what he REALLY wanted:stopitslime:

We really gonna count this as a win for Mitch though??

Technically, it kind of is a win for him in the fact that he made Nancy look funny in the light as well. She also lost by not winning the Senate and have months of posturing be for nothing.

He’s perfectly fine with being a scum bytch in public so this optics isn’t going to hurt him in the slightest. For months, Nancy pretended that she had leverage when she really did and still had to budge off of her original demands. She got on the defensive in interviews when people pressed her for hopping on the bipartisan deal after holding out for a higher amount for so long.

This is the most that the GOP would agree on for right now. The Dems in the house passed a bill months ago that was worth double of what this is. Mitch never brought it to vote.

So either the Dems agree to the Senate bill OR this drags on into the new year and y'all still blame the Dems instead of blaming Mitch :manny:

That's why Georgia is so important but watch it be low turnout :francis:

How would you go about getting more out the deal? Dems don't have the Senate and likely won't. All I'mma say is Biden better be ready to pass whatever he can through E.O. because Mitch ain't agreeing to shyt..

Don't you understand? If Dems didn't agree to something before the holidays the GOP was more than happy to go home without anything getting done. This country (and some posters here) still believe in 'both sides' instead of holding Mitch and them accountable.

They have months to pass a stimulus bill, so I’m not going to absolve any side of blame over the situation. It’s more so the point that Nancy and Democrats held out for months on a deal in hopes that they could go higher on a stimulus bill if they won the Senate. Unfortunately, they did and pretended after the election that they still had leverage when everyone knew they would have to go down on their demands.

The only reason they all even agreed to deal now was because they ran out of time and had no other choice but to go down on their demands. The Bipartisan deal gave them the perfect out to do that so they can go home for the holidays.

Millions of people lost everything they had on a deal they could have signed months ago had they all came down on their concessions. Now they can go home for Christmas while still getting paid in full and feel like they actually did their job.
