Ahhh there it is. I was waiting for this. Thank you. You and I both know that if the Dems controlled all branches that the money would already be where it needs to be. Would it be perfect, hell no.. but it'd be out there is some form.

But instead of accepting that and acknowledging that the GOP is the root of the evil in Washington... you want to play both sides and now you are using the TLR special "shill" argument..

I think we're done here now. You made it clear where you stand

I have made it perfectly clear with where I stand on previous posts. I don’t care for Congress and the way that they operate. Let me ask you this question.

There are 3,000 pages of documents in this new stimulus bill chalked full of provisions containing you know what. The majority of Congress never got a chance to read up on the bill before passed. In the next few weeks, stuff will leak out about the bill that will more than likely benefit big businesses over the poor, yet both sides created the bill and signed off on it. So tell me this...... when it comes out are you still going to have the same energy as you do right now?

Mad people are having allergic reactions to the vaccine. We might not be as close as we thought. :francis:

The GOP should've modified it and sent back a counter proposal. They never did. They literally said that they wanted to take a wait and see approach, before sending anymore funds to the people.

:yeshrug: time will tell. Modernas vaccine just got approved so there is 2 now and presumably others still in process. At the very least we are past the mid point

Leverage and power is the name of the game in politics and people gotta realize that. You only have leverage when you actually do. Republicans controlled the Senate before elections and now after. Therefore, there’s no other choice but to work with them as they had to do now. That’s how they got Barrett in the SC before election as they had the power and leverage to do.

That’s what the blue wave was supposed to be for. Get Mitch out of the paint so you can go as high as you want on a stimulus bill. Unfortunately, it never happened. So guess what? They still had to come up off those original provisions. Even after the election, they pretended to still have leverage when they didn’t at all. Everybody knew they were going to have to lower their amount.

Yes because all these colossal bills have that same issue. They have their people looking at it. The common congressmen isn't going to read it but if they want to know they will know. There is always some bs attached, I never said there wouldn't be. That has nothing to do with the current discussion though.

Who cares? Nikka millions of people lost everything they had over a bill they easily could have passed months ago.
So why aren't you blaming Mitch for that?

Nancy does take a hard L. They took that fossil heifer out back, and put it in her ass.. no Vaseline. Nancy played politics, lets keep it a buck. Bu she did what she felt she had to do in order to get Trump out of office. She thought if she agreed to a package right before the election, it would've bought Trump a shyt load more of votes. She might have been right. But she played politics in exchange for peoples' lives. That aint whoa.

He was going to have to pass something. He got out of a 3.4T deal and passed a 300B one. That's a win for him.

I hear you.. still fukked up that we cant give states the money to pay their government employees, but we can divert money for the wall?

It's been breaking run off turnout records every day since early voting began. Which is good for the dems. We gotta hope and pray.

Honestly, I dont know. I dont know what's what. I'm hoping that Biden's got an ace up his sleeve. He's got history with McConnell, and they've cut deals for over 20 years. Mitch actually named a law after Biden's son Beau, who died. Biden seems hella confident that he'll get stimulus pushed through. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He's made it very clear that he's aware of the housing crisis, and the lack of funding for the American people. So maybe its stupid of me to put my faith in the man, but what other option do I/we have? He's the leader of the free world now. Or at least he will be. One thing that is bothering the hell out of me... I've watched damn near all of the press conferences with Nancy, and she keeps reiterating 'more will be done with the Biden administration' .. she keeps saying that as if its a fact. But unless the dems get those seats in Georgia... nothing's guaranteed. Even if we DO get those seats.. they're gonna need 60 votes to have anything pass. Kamala will make the vote 51-50 .. so they're still gonna need at least 9 republicans to sign off on any deal. I hope they have a plan.
He didn't have to pass anything he could've just held it up like he did all summer

It has everything to do with the discussion. Big businesses and Congress will always get theirs regardless of the party over the American people. While we are sitting here bickering, them cats are going home for Christmas while getting paid in full. They got paid the entire time they argued over the bill.

I’m not going to sit here and absolve any side over something that should have been months ago. Scroll through this thread or the other stimulus bill one and find the post where breh spit that real game about how Congress works. I’m going to see if I can find it myself and link it.

Found it.

One side is better than the other right?

What the American people are seeing is that which has always been apparent, but hidden to those who were caught up in the day-to-day activities of this world. Congress members never cared about their constituents, and it's always been about extracting money from the people. One of my degrees is in Political Science, so I am well aware of just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Wait until people start finding out about PAC money (huge amounts of money goes into PACs) political donation dinners that are sometimes up to $250k a seat, that Congress can legally engage in insider trading of stocks and shares yet average Americans cannot (insider trading is how Congress members make the bulk of their money. Since the Federal Government receives first hand knowledge of company information via SEC filings, Congress members buy or sell shares before the public is aware of the information and they make huge profits). If you had access to buy Apple stock knowing the first Iphone is about to drop, and you had this information before anyone else is aware or even knows about an iphone, then of course you stand to make millions.

Congress gets paid whether there is a government shutdown or not. Their checks never stop. Congress gets the best healthcare benefits which ironically is a single payer program (but they didn't want us to have one lol), they receive pensions, even after serving one term, they all make at least $174k, more if you're in leadership position, they have expense accounts, they can draft bills and vote to raise their own pay with no oversight which they always do, and they take more vacations than any other industry. There's so much more that I can get into but it's sad really. The only way things will change is if we enact several amendments to the constitution. However, that likely will never happen because why would Congress vote to handicap themselves? It has to change though. It's not a sustainable system where a small set of people are rich and everyone else is poor.

Even if people have allergic reactions, that doesn't mean the vaccine isn't working on them
I'm not sure of the severity of the reactions, but it's still better than dying of Covid I have to imagine

I know how Congress works....which is why nikkas cheerleading for MITCH MCCONNELL of all people is funny to me

But you seem to be mad a bill got passed seems like you would rather politicians keep arguing so you can ride with the both sides argument

I’m not cheering anybody as I know they would have gotten paid regardless of whether a bill got done or not. Why cheer for a Congressional system that could care less about me?

Your biggest mistake is pretending and believing that they do care.

To add on..I'd also imagine the sample size is still small in terms of measuring allergic reaction or not abnormal in comparison to what was seen in trials

They care about presenting an image of them caring about their constituents just enough to get re-elected. They dont actually care about anything other than their salaries, benefits and lobbyists they appease
