Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Beal
Thompson
Stephenson
Monta Ellis
Harden
DeRozan
Dragic (Played SG till Bledsoe got hurt)
Afflalo
Kmart
Mathews

There's good depth, and you got Exum, Young, Selden etc coming down the pipeline. The position much like the C spot just lacks that superstar that will make everyone else at the position raise their games, it's only a matter of time before another comes a long that is way ahead of everyone else.

It's really a damn shame. Just extremely odd how maybe the best SG crop of all-time came in once Jordan left. Outside of Iverson, all of them were in the same 6'5"-6'6" mold as Jordan. Super athletic, high scoring, do it all type players in their primes. Spoiled us brehs. :to:

Teams all want the next Wade, a guy that can sort of toe the line between PG & SG.

Heaven on Earth
The SG position is fine (they are just all undersized)... The PG position is suffering so they are forcing a bunch of natural scorers into primary ball handeling positions though...The majority of the league has turned towards the John Calipari dribble drive offense because most of these dudes aren't natural floor generals..

The 1 and 5 positions have been killed by AAU and the 1 and done college routine.. It's a league full of 2's, 3's and 4's now.. And even the 4's are turning more into stretch 4's instead of post players..If you like The Rucker its probably a really cool time for you as a fan...

Exactly, these nikkas need to study up on their NBA history. The SG position is historically the weakest position in the NBA. Jordan just made that shyt look good for a while, then Kobe copied long enough to fool people that was an actually franchise changing position around the league. Wade is a great player but the fact that he will probably retire as the 3rd best SG all time tells you the lack of depth at that position has had considering how long the NBA has been around.

Beyond that if you look at the greatest SGs they all do things that are traditionally associated with other positions (ballhandling and distributing, scoring in the post, defending 1's and 3's). SG is the NBA version of the TE position.

Oladipo, Hardaway, Beal, Thompson, Stephenson, Harden, DeRozan are all under the age of 25. Saying the position is dead is silly

EDIT: Forgot Dion Waiters

:what: who on that list is an actual PG? dont give me Penny and Steve Smith either. Only SF's that might be on there is Lewis and Majerle but they played a lot of 2 also.

:childplease: John Starks > Wesley Matthews

After seeing this I realize that the shooting guard spot is not as dead as I thought. There's six 20 point scorers on that list and while there may not be that Jordan Kobe Wade Drexler type the SG spot is in pretty decent hands. Not to mention if guys like Russy and Steph played the 2 spot too.
