BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKLLLLLYYYYYNNNN
Why can’t these multimillionaire musicians come together and form their own record label to at least give better terms to artists?
They can't. It's like a credit card. The Diddy's and the 50 cents try to negotiate in feasible terms with up and coming artist off the streets, hungry for a substantial income. They try to explain to them that it's borrowed credit and coach them on how to manage their money and the consistency of pushing out hits but those artist don't learn. A lot of them end up homeless or with side jobs to make ends meet.

Plus....a lot of black millionaires can not borrow loans from investors so they acquire it through the use of gangsters and drug dealers to pay the artist as long as they're promoting and giving back to that gang hence Deathrow, Badboy, Roc nation, Rap-A-Lot and so forth...

Da fukk?! U pay somebody just to fukk up their career and keep them out of the game so they won’t do damage to another artist signed to your label?!:wtf::mindblown:
Yeah its extremely fukked up and weird, but like the article says, it makes sense logically.

No better way to eliminate the competition than incorporating it/them with your own infrastructure(i.e. sbc purchasing ameritech, comcast attempting to buy time warner etc.)

For those asking "Why don't they just..." look at what happened when Suge, Prince and Gotti tried to unionize the artists and create a black owned distribution channel.

Tells you everything you need to know.
Whatchu mean?!

Most people would be surprised to see their heroes getting screamed on talking about "I put you here, don't think I can't take it all away if you don't do what I say, you are mine and if you decide to leave I'll make you radioactive for eternity" and then have the same dudes flossing on social media talking about how "bossed up" they are.

:rudy:
Rhyming about being dope dealers when in reality they're hope dealers selling dreams to fiends about lives they don't lead because they're hemmed up all round and barely staying above ground. Its all so disgusting on so many levels because they shovel fools gold day and night in exchange for real value. Like mileage on hoe turning tricks takes a strain which is why so many of them lose what little brain remains as they flip out and "go crazy" when in reality its the only sane reaction to the situation they're in but there is so much content missing from what the people know plus the narrative is controlled to make it seem so.

once again some way yall reveal yourself as foretellers

@Booksnrain , there's a new independent artist I've been on a lot lately from San Francisco named Larry June. He raps the standard ig'nant shyt but his other angle/gimmick is mixing in bars about paying his bills on time, eating healthy, making smoothies, and doing outdoor activities like hiking and bike riding. Check out his merch page, he sells Larry June branded hoop shorts, grocery totes, mason jars, and aprons among other things. He even has his own line of orange juice lol. Screw balling off an advance, this is what setting yourself up for long term success is about, and it comes from having to/being able to think out the box without the will of greedy label execs being imposed upon you.

He's probably doing better financially than 90% of big label artists tbh, and he seems a helluva a lot happier too

Shop the Larry June Official Store

love larry bruh. feel like he doesn't rap about the standard ignorant shyt though, i disagree there. listening to larry make me wanna grind lmao, bruh had me drinking smoothies :russ:

I do believe that more people should take his route though, it really looks like he's doing well, and as you said, looks happy doing it

I used to be down on Birdman, but if you actually think about it, what has any of the artists who left him actually accomplished?

Juvenile was a certified superstar with cash money. Without them he was a nobody.

When was the last time you heard a mannie fresh beat?

Turk is washed

I can't comment on BG because who knows what would have happened if he didn't go to prison.

Rich Homie Quan is slowly trying to crawl his way back to relevance.

Young Thug will probably never be hotter than he was during the Rich Gang Era.

shyt even Jaquees is a household name despite being a 4'11 manlet in a genre full of Trey Songz and Chris Browns.

I think Birdman gives an aura to his artists. Kind of like his personality runs off on them. That rich gang lifestyle gold turleys and chandeliers lol.

The only one who even had a chance to maintain his position in the game was Wayne, but instead of letting him go to roc a fella to be an employee Bird gave him young money and he gave the world Tyga, Nicki Minaj, and Drake.

Yea he did Wayne dirty on the money, but on the flip side, how much of that money would even be generated without him?

You gotta pay the piper pleyboigh :birdman:

Thug is 10x hotter than he was during the Rich Gang Era lol

RIP Miss Tamara and Miss Gladys boy
