How much were people expecting a film about Mark Kerr to realistically make? Unless you're deep into the MMA world you're not going to care about this movie. This movie should've been a streaming movie, because unless you had Denzel attached to the movie it was doomed to flop.

This should have been a streaming movie. I like the rock and the movies and didn’t think twice about going to see it in theaters. I’ve never heard of Mark Kerr before this movie
I would rather see the rock do a wrestling storyline than be in a movie. Sorry
The big movie star era is dead. I also think A24 is overrated. They don’t make movies for the average audience, only film snobs. In fact I’m sure most Oscar nominated movies sell 100 tickets in the box office.

No one has that juice in Hollywood no more. It’s not the movie star it’s the actual movie that people are interested in. He could make 10 more Moana and sell like crazy but Oscar bait doesn’t move the needle. It’s targeted towards a niche audience.After Black Adam Rocky lost his thunder. Other than Moana 2 Rocky been slacking.

Yeah this was destined to flop and honestly it's more of a Oscar bait movie to show that he has more range as an actor. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to Oscar chase especially if he strikes out on this one or his rumored Scorsese movie.

Acknowledging the box office results is pathetic.
Thought that was the whole point from the jump. Of course an A24 biopic about a MMA fighter from the still dark ages of MMA respectability would not do well money wise no matter who is in it. It may find a life on streaming but that it get a theatrical release at all is kind of wild.
